Hey James,

I buy my license at Walmart. A one day license is only $5.00. You might be able to get it at Canadian Tire as well. Should be any where tackle is sold I would imagine.

So are you in?

Certified crazy, yes. :-)

Anyway $99 was a bit too expensive considering it's only 2 dives and you have to get your own tanks and weights.

I'm interested in the shore dive. Will have to wait till next to confirm if i can make it.

Anyway one more question. Where can i get a crab license and how much does it cost? Also is there a specific type of license i should be getting?

James

In the summer when the weather is better maybe we could charter a dive boat for a week end up at Powell River.....

The diving people around here do like to brag that Powell River is the diving capital of canada

I'll go with whatever everbody wants to do. That said in my experience I generally prefer boat dives because you can get to better sites and to me it's not just about saving a couple of bucks. I am not familiar with the area so I'll trust you guys know what you're talking about. Now who is volunteering to slug all my equipment down to the shore?

I'm more than likely in. Will know for sure next week.

You can get a saltwater license online!

That's how you stay warm Greg; you haul 80 pounds of gear down 45 degree decline for 3 miles so that by the time you get down to the shore you are sweating up a storm in the wet suit. You'll need to cool yourself off in the ocean. LOL. just J/K about the 3 mile trek downhill although it sure feels like that with all the gear.

Keith was right in doing shore dive, we will have varying levels of experience in the group and this way it will be a lot safer for everyone.

Cheers,

Paul

It turns out I can't book the 27th off but their is still a chance I will have it off anyway, I'll know Friday.

Since I have this weekend off I'm taking advantage and I am going to try Seadragon out.

Their is a chance I'll have next weekend off also and be able go for a shore dive too but just in case I am making sure I get wet!

We'll if yesterday is any indication the vis should be good, it was around 50 ft or so. Got some half decent pics for once.

It was a killer day, now I'm way stoked to go again next weekend!

Sorry I have to cancel

I've had some stuff come up and now won't be able to make the trip. It is actually probably for the best as I was having a hard time justifying the cost of nearly $500 (what a rip-off) in flights with WestJet for one day of diving. Hell I can pretty much fly to Mexico for that and if I did that I'd at least spend the week and get a tan. Anyway I am very disappointed but life goes on. Have a great time guys. Maybe I can catch the next one. Thanks for offering to put me up Paul, hopefully I can take a rain check.
