claymax 07-03-2010 03:26 AM

hey guys, do you NEED VHO to grow sps corals or will others do? ive been doing some reading and it was giving me that impression

The Grizz 07-03-2010 09:03 PM

T5 HO or Metal Halide or a combo of both it what I have seen on a lot of the amazing tanks that I have seen so far.

I have a few things that I will not be using anymore in the way of canister filter's, UV sterilizer's and a sump if you are interested.

ya a canister filter would be awesome, what kind is it?

The Grizz 07-07-2010 12:58 AM

I have a Rena XP2 with Rena Smart heater, just need new hose to custom fit to any tank (Home Depot) and a Fluval 305 (complete). Both need new media and are only about 8 months old but only used for about 6 months.

PM me for price details

The Grizz 07-07-2010 02:37 AM

are uv sterilizers a must? or can you just watch your bio-load and how much you feed. or is green water a common issue

The Grizz 07-07-2010 03:47 AM

I had an algea bloom when i first started my 65, put in a 9w uv. It helped to reduce and control it. You will get many opinions on this issue, I will always have one on hand just in case just my 2 cents.
