Wow, steep pricing! I know some corals are nice, but that seems a bit much for one coral, let alone an inch of that coral.

Some stuff is definitely worth it! I guess its all about personal preference.

I've seen lots of people paying $500-600 for colonies of Australian Acan. Guess $200/inch of a rare SPS frag isn't outrageous in comparison.

"dwarfed"

Ironically, it is the only SPS in my collection that I can not get a good picture of. Here is the description though, called "The Fuscia". Fuscia base, blue tips and white polyps. But that is not what makes it so special. The growth on this coral is truly unique, it is very very very fine branching, and the more it grows the finer it gets. There is only one colony (belonging to a Toronto hobbyist), and I also have a small colony aquired in a trade. From time to time this is available through a local a LFS for $225-$250 per frag. Now I really gotta get a picture of it!

You should see what it is like in the Toronto market. Almost getting as pricey as the US for some rare items, let alone an aussie acan. To the corals defence though, it is the most unique one I have ever seen, and is known to be hardy as it has been around for about 3 years I think.

Personal preference I agree, but at this price point it is really for collectors only (and ones with deep pockets as well)

The last acan I wanted to purchase...I was quoted $1500 at the LFS. I already had it bagged to...clearly it stayed at the store. Aussie acans here typically go from $350 to $800.

It seems my original post didn't stick around, so anyways, anyone who wants in on a Calgary/Edmonton WF.com order please go here.

Make appear small by comparison=dwarfed, I was refering to the fact that i'm used to seeing pricing between 5$-60$/coral or frag and you speak towards 200$/inch just "dwarfed" my pricing idea.

Yea definitally people with deep pockets/collectors item only

I see - that makes sense. Expensive does not always mean really nice though, at least not to me. I have limits to!
