Hey Steve, it might have been me, there was another girl working that day too.

Murminator, I think they are the porous sea star in Shimek's book Marine Invertebrates. They are not Linckias, I think the arms are too short and they move slower.

Hey everyone....lastnight was almost the worst day of my life!! (well, maybe more my BF since he had to listen to me whine  ). We had a power outage lastnight that lasted for about 8 hours  And, of course, I was worried about my aquariums and he was worried about the food in the fridge/freezer. It wouldn't have been so bad, but the power went on and off from midnight to about 3 am. We stayed up all night because as soon as we had everything turned on the power would go off and we would have to start all over making sure everything was turned off. Crazy, I tell you, CRAZY!! But all in all, everyone made it!

Thats awesome that everything survived. Power outages can be real nail biters thats for sure. One day I woke up before my alarm and realized and the power had gone out, I called in to work that day and told them I wasn't coming until the power was on cuz my fish were more important than work (no I wasn't talking to my boss at the time ).

Christy :)

I moved the suncoral just to make it easier to feed it, does anyone have any suggestion to what I can put in the spot where the suncoral was? It gets a little bit of light and lots of flow.

The frogspawn looks even better then when I first put it in!! The clowns love it!

Very nice tank.. glad to hear everything pulled through that power outage as well!

Just a question about your sun coral.. I just picked one up, and have it in a mixed shade/light area in the tank receiving medium/high flow..

How do you get yours to extend during the day? How do you feed yours?

Just getting other reefers advice and tips...

Thanks OCDP, about the suncoral...when I first got mine I put in in parial shade and light. It didn't open a whole lot only when I feed it. But as soon as I moved it to where there was more light and more flow it seems much happier and opens whenever I feed the fish (twice a day in the morning and evening).

Hey . Well maybe I shall try and put mine more in a little more light.. although I have seen mine open quite a bit already

Here's another little tip if you didn't know... I have been feeding cyclopeeze (freezedried) and flakes, and that seems to be enough to get mine to open up !

Thanks OCDP  I've been feeding mine frozen cyclop-eeze (works great hey?) and mysis shrimp.
