I think liability insurance would be fine, IF, and that's a BIG IF, it was on a case by case basis, and not breed specific. There is no reason to punish good owners that own "dangerous dogs", (what ever that's supposed to mean), just like it's not right to give the owner of a vicious shitzu a break, because the dog can be punted for field goal every time, (and yes, my Rottie was attacked by a shitzu.... Everyone thought it was funny until she growled back at it.... go figure, my Rottie was at fault for that one  ).

Oh, and while sharing attack stories... I was attacked by a St. Bernard at age 9. I got lucky and managed to escape with a few bumps and bruises, (and my running shoes looked like crap afterwards, from the slobber and teeth marks)... but, I don't consider St. Bernards to be a dangerous breed... just met one that had a fancy for kids, (I guess we're a lot more tender than adults at that age  ).

Oh well, dogs will always be a part of our society, and people will always find the latest and greatest dog to turn into a dangerous dog, (and make headlines for years to come). So, for all of you that own large dogs that are not easily recongnizable, remember, when someone asks you what type of dog you own, the answer is simple, a giant shitzu... very hard to get  ... there's a breed I don't mind doing without, (no offence to all of you that own shitzu's... I'm just not a fan of them).

Here is my "dangerous dog", part time surrogate mother for kittens, still a big ol puppy at 165lbs and growing. Zeus is the definition of gentle giant.
