They ring? Not in my experience. I sat at home all day waiting for my last delivery. Late in the afternoon I took a peek outside the door and there was an attempted delivery notice stuck to it. I WAS HOME. They just stuck the notice there without ringing or knocking.

Nano 01-12-2012 11:48 PM

laziness.

I've had that happen at least twice in the past when getting coral shipped. Both shipments died from UPS stupidity. No knock. No ring. Even had a bloody sign on my door to the UPS guy saying "UPS, I'm home over here and waiting for delivery". The idiot stuck his "attempted delivery" note NEXT to mine, even though I was sitting in my livingroom all bloody day waiting for both shipments. Happened months apart. Now its just less stressful to drive up to Powell River and pick up the corals myself than to depend on bleeping UPS!!!!

Serious? thats so retarded! I know we always get called from the post office, "your package was dropped off by UPS yesterday) I shouldnt say always just the 2 times we ordered something. its ridiculous, is it really that much to ask some one to do their job to the fullest? or even half a$$ed?

The Grizz 01-13-2012 01:43 AM

UPS are the only ones that will deliver out to my place but they ALWAYS lose the package for a week before it actually gets here. If its major important I have it sent to my dads place in town. I have yet to order livestock from online but there will be a day when I do & I will have to figure out the best way to do it.

In short UPS SUCKS!!!

I agree and will refuse to buy anything that is shipped via UPS especially from the US

Nano 01-13-2012 02:18 AM

its getting to that time again... ----------------------------------------> --------------------------------------> --------------------^ almost at 1000 lol

gregzz4 01-13-2012 02:22 AM

Jeez you talk a lot
Weren't you just at 300 before x-mas?

Nano 01-13-2012 02:25 AM

closer to 400 I think lol I think the first 500 came really fast cause I had a ton of questions and arguments on here tho, now its just me not shutting up ever

jorjef 01-13-2012 02:43 AM

The "almost" fail proof system for courier deliver I have used in the past is to get the shipping company to mark the package "hold at depot for pickup" and go get it myself.

I concur! UPS customer service is a joke. I prefer Fedex or Purolator.

At that rate you should be there by about...tomorrow morning. Jeez, I've been here 4 years and haven't hit 700 yet.

Nano 01-13-2012 03:27 AM

thats ok, I dont really care to be honest, I'm just here to learn and ask questions in order to learn. so whether I am at 100 or 1000 I don't see a problem. if it keeps me from making major mistakes especially:smile:

EDIT
Plus it seemed like a very social site when I joined, and being that there are no reefers in my town (aside from the "reefer" reefers)
It seemed like a good place to come to learn and share and what not.

lockrookie 01-13-2012 05:03 AM

Finds it totally ironic that in The "Karate Kid" movie......Jaden Smith was chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool, and shootin' some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys - they were up to no good, started making trouble in the neighborhood. He got in one little fight and his mom got scared and said "You gotta learn karate from the maintenance man downstairs."

Sorry to hear that. Hope things turn around for him.

My sister-in-law Grace (Irene's older sister) was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Her incompetent doctor was asked to look at it a year and a half ago but kept telling Grace that it was nothing, and never sent her for a mammogram or other testing. Finally did some tests in the last couple of weeks and Grace has second-third stage cancer. Did her first chemo last Friday. It was very hard on her.

Fortunately her faith is very strong and she has a lot of support.

Anthony

Thanks, and sorry to hear about Grace hope she is able to beat it.

Unfortunately Chris has stage 4 pancreatic cancer which there is no cure for. The cancer has spread to the majority of all his organs. The Doctors figured he'd live a few weeks to a few months last June so it's amazing that he's lived as long as he has and has been doing as well as he has been. Just sucks that he's staring to go downhill now

lastlight 01-13-2012 07:10 PM

The garage is so full of everyone's used equipment that Aquatic Pawn Star seems inevitable. :frusty:

Well if you have some of what I still need, why aren't you loading up your truck for a Canada cross-country 'Aquatic Star: The Real Life of Aquariasts Exposed'

gregzz4 01-14-2012 03:42 AM

Or it could be the 'How broke am I ? An insiders look at Saltwater idjits' expose.
I bet ya the Discovery Channel could use this.
Hell, they spent 2 weeks here with my buddy, following him and his crew on his moving truck.

Nano 01-14-2012 03:44 AM

10 more minutes and I punch out for the last time. that means no more being a janitor! now I get to be a Equipment Salesman in the Oilfield. Time for a haircut me thinks..
