3.04

I udated to 3.04. Yes, everything shuts off and it reverts back to the factory defaults. You have to save your settings and then upload them into the controller. If you didn't -- I didn't, so I know -- you have to reprogram all your settings into the 3.04.

Not bad; it's like checking everything for no reason -- LOL.

So far it's working fine. Although I still can't get my WLAN online. I'll keep pluggin'

Well, My Lan was working flawless, Now the 3.04 will see the Profilux, but will not connect to it, reverting back to 3.03 does not help either, everything was backed up before the upgrade. Hope that Upgrade did not blow out the Lan card..., I have seen that happen before.

Thank Heavens for a Serial port connection yet, that seems to be OK, Going to have to figure this out, Got to love the Remeber this is a Beta version Disclaimer :)

Amp,

thank you for your feedback. After the update ProfiLux restores the factory settings. This is normal and no problem. After that you have to load the sensor data and the settings you saved before the update back to ProfiLux.
A warning occurs before you load the settings back to ProfiLux because the firmware changed - that can be ignored.
I updated here all ProfiLux without any problem.

Matthias,

Yes that would be correct, I was able to re establish a connection after stopping the profilux, then re booting, For some odd reason the IP search was seeing the unit but refused to connect.

After a hard restart it connected with no problems, I was always one to beta programs, always kept an original on my Lap top just in case :)

Thanks for all your hard work on a very cost effective unit.

I am not able to connect via WLAN to my Profilux. I just upgraded software/firmware to 3.04, the network sees it, the Control software sees it ... but it won't complete the connection. I have rebooted both my PC and the Profilux Comp and it isn't coming online.

Any ideas?

Are you running VISTA by any chance?

niloc16 09-30-2007 06:39 PM

good luck getting WLAN to work. its a major pain in the @#$

Aqua-Digital 09-30-2007 07:12 PM

This pain in the @@@ is about to end, a birdie tels me V5 will have plug and play capabilites, mainly due to Vista and its hidden securities!!

maybe Matthias can grace us with a bit more info on here after the weekend

no .... but here is the story...

I got profilux months ago and hooked up wireless from my XP desktop no problem at all...

then I bought a laptop with Visa... tried to connect ... no problem! Awesome....

BUT suddenly I came home one day and none of my machines had internet and I couldn't connect to the profilux. I checked router and all of the security was put on (I have it off).... so I redid all that. I think Vista may have reconfigured the router? Anyway....

Still using 3.02 at this time, I put everything back to normal, I made an ad hoc connection and redid everything. Again I could get in to the WLAN card and make changes no problem. The control software would not connect though. Port 10001.....

So I decided to upgrade to the new software and new firmware. No problem. Now the control software see's the controller but won't make the connection...

Please advise,

but for the average person hooking up WLAN is next to impossible. it seems easy to developers and people who are good at computers but for the basic hobbyist good bloody luck. i have had it for a year and still no luck, i gave up wasting my time months ago and until i start hearing on here that people are having huge success with doing so i'm not trying again. just my 2 bits
