I was just thinking to myself how spending the afternoon drinking rum and then going into the shop to spray lacquer was not the best plan for this afternoon, but then the rum and lacquer combination left me with a feeling of "wow that looks awesome" hope it still looks that good when I come too.

So, its always had me wondering about the number of people on this site at any given time. At this moment there are 431 people on the site, 155 members and 276 guests!! Really? who are the 276 guests? are they members that aren't signed in? people who are truely guests and checking out the site. The guests always seem to out number the members quite handily!! are they "real" people?
It's not that I think the guests are not welcome, actually the opposite, join it's free! Just always thought it was strange that when I looked the numbers are always so lopsided. |
Wondered that too many times as well as this:
Members: 8,686, Active Members: 1,205 What's the difference between a member & active member? |
I think guests are mostly members that haven't signed in. The number of members is the total number of accounts ever created. This includes people that are no longer in the hobby, people that forgot their password and just created a new account, even the spammers get counted.
Active members are probably enumerated based on last activity date. Not sure the actual time frame. |

Lets get some pics of that on your build so my wife will appreciate how clean I am doing this build
All kidding aside, I showed Donna the hi-lights of lastlight's huge thread and all the nice construction you claim to have done yourself. I gotta say, if we wanted our tank downstairs, I'd model it after yours. Good thing for me the DT is going in the LRoom  |
So Grizz, how long?
|
And another thought ....
Don't you just hate it when you find that piece of equipment you want, and then the seller bails 'cause, at the last minute, they think, "well, maybe I should keep it as a back-up"? Then why the bleep did you offer it to me in the first place?!!! |
sometimes lady luck smiles upon you........being a finishing carpenter by trade Im usually an "indoor" kind of guy for work.....recently things had been slow for the crew I normally work with so I have been working with a friend that I met through Canreef and Red Coral....this friend does renovations so the work I do with him varies greatly.....everything from finishing to tiling to insulating to drywall etc, etc.....this week we have been shingling the roof on a big project that he has......its snowing at the moment here in Cowtown so the boss called a snow day and gave us the day off.....so as Im sitting here drinking coffee, enjoying Canreef, my newly acquired blue spot jawfish jumps from the tank and hits the carpet...... if circumstances had been any different (working with my usual crew or no snow) I would have come home to a CCC (crispy carpet critter).....sometimes things do go your way

When I worked at a local pet shop in the late 80s, we found a teddy bear hamster that had probably been running loose for a while. When we caught it, it was the size of a small guinea pig with its cheeks stuffed completely full. As soon as it was caught, the bugger began spitting up everything. There was probably half a cup of seeds and food pellets, bits of garbage, some straw, some kid's candy, and a complete full-size plastic shopping bag. You would swear a big dog couldn't fit all that cr@p into its mouth and all this stuff came out of a HAMSTER!!!!
|
:pound: haha, this is a very unproductive work day today lol
|
That sucks Grizz
