Maybe you were bad??

Delphinus 12-26-2011 05:14 AM

Thanks, yeah, that really helps lessen the sting. :p I guess I'll just do opposite of whatever I would normally do, going forward, except the problem is that if I always choose incorrectly, then choosing opposite right now is the opposite of correct and therefore I should change nothing. All I know is, whatever I do decide, it will be the exact opposite of the correct option.

What really burns me is this is a piece I've had for 12 months. Did really well for the first 5-6 months but has been languishing ever since. Not sure why.

Pretty much

lastlight 12-26-2011 05:17 AM

Sorry to hear man. Anything i have and can replace?

Delphinus 12-26-2011 05:25 AM

Not sure - it was that peach coloured acro I picked up from Lobsterboy. It pretty much browned out instantly under my care but it at least encrusted over nicely. Have no idea how he got such a cool peachy orange colour out of it..

gregzz4 12-26-2011 08:01 AM

When does the JL sale start? Last year it was just after midnight.
What..is..going..on..?

fishoholic 12-26-2011 12:00 PM

OMG I'm tried! Way to early to be up and ready by 6am! Dang you boxing day sales!!!!!!!!!!!:twised:

SeaHorse_Fanatic 12-26-2011 01:09 PM

I think its supposed to be 8am the online sale starts (as well as in-store) but P.S.T. not AB time zone:twised:

ALBERTA REEF 12-26-2011 04:59 PM

Screw it! I'am bored. Going to Red Coral. :twised:

ALBERTA REEF 12-27-2011 03:48 AM

Dam it! Why do I get motivated to build things late at night? I am one 2x6 short from completing and no hardware shore open. Stupied murphy.

Nano 12-27-2011 03:51 AM

Haha measure twice cut once! ;) just kidding! I am building a stand pretty soon for my cube! I'm pretty excited to get it under way. then I just have to find a cheap cube sump

Measure twice cut once does not help when the 2x6 has a nasty twist in it:lol:. Good luck on your build.

Nano 12-27-2011 04:11 AM

ahh I see nope that just makes life more difficult! and thanks! you too

The Grizz 12-27-2011 04:14 AM

I hear ya! The wife wants cherry though lol so thats what she gets only problem now is the plan I have made doesnt allow room for my original 20 gallon sump so I have to find a cube sump or one that will fit in a 22" or less space. Oh well she wanted wood, but it could cost more money now for a custom sump

Nano 12-27-2011 04:31 AM

I think what I will most likely do is 2 ten gallon tanks one as a refugium one as a sump with the refugium higher like we originally talked about Greg, but I may have to fine a tank that is bigger then 10 gallons for the sump but still in the 20" range or so.. we'll see

Just make sure your sump is big enough. You'll need one big enough so that when the power goes out there will be enough room in your sump for the drainage and no floods.

I hear ya. I want to try and find one thats 20x 12x 16 high or so, so like a 15 tall or something unless I can find someone on here with an old cube sump laying around but we'll see, for now, I have to get my stand built, get my tank drilled, find a skimmer which I can build the sump around, and build my leds lol god, it sounds like so much.

Aaarrrrghhh!! Two more RTN's! @#$%^&*()!!!!!!!! Enough already!!!! :bad-word:

Converting the 280g to freshwater is looking better and better. One school of 30ish cardinal tetras. DONE and DONE.

Nano 12-27-2011 05:29 PM

MAhnahmanah... Newb question, whats RTN?

Delphinus 12-27-2011 05:35 PM

Dead coral. "Rapid Tissue Necrosis." Mostly an SPS related ailment. An acropora (or other coral) looks fine one day, then nothing but skeleton the next. Poof, just like that, and it's done.

I had really put a lot of faith in that "doing everything right" with a tank this big would be the end of bad luck related incidents. So far, it has proven anything but.

About ready to call it quits forever with corals.

Nano 12-27-2011 05:42 PM

Damn thats sucks! I hope you stay in the hobby though! if you quit coral just go fowlr maybe! :)

The Grizz 12-27-2011 05:59 PM

Don't feel bad Tony, i can hardly keep SPS alive at any stage. I do have a few pieces in my office tank that are OK but not WOW

Whats with people hijacking threads on the buy/sell section? Pretty ignorant to jump on there and start commenting on someones price. The mods should maybe do somethng about it, they usually have to go in and clean up the posts anyways. And why are people worried about post counts? Must be an age thing. Seems that alot of new members have close to or over a thousand posts and only a couple are worthy of looking at.

Some grumpy boxing day shoppers need to sit down, watch Ron Howard's 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and learn a few things my kids already have a grasp of. Oh and maybe stop whining and bitching already ;)
