You too should just rip up the basement, seal it with a pool liner, lose the tanks and have yourself your own indoor snorkel pool reef.

Actually, that is why he is always broke. Just assuming Doug, nothing that was told to me  I think he probably has to cut Kevin a cheque each month.

The Grizz 01-05-2012 11:05 PM

I know if it was me in Dougs place I would owe Kevin twice what I made in a month working for RC

ashr 01-06-2012 07:40 PM

I think I would need to go work up in the oil fields to support a tank like this.. lol

Thanks bye.....they are one of my faves too.....that why I put them way in the back of the tank.....so I can say to people ...."naw man....I cant frag those, they are way to hard to get to"......I dont know, most vendors seem to have clued in that zoas are hot and there are some serious zoaholics out there.....I dont think the market will dry up.....

thanks for the comp guys.....Ive said it before but .....its easy to take good coral pics when you can dunk your camera and get to within a couple inches of your subject to take the picture:lol:....the scoly is my prized coral ....I sure hope it takes the move to E-town well.....I'll be super bummed if I loose it...

fishytime 01-07-2012 04:52 AM

working for Red Coral has its advantages:biggrin:......most of my coral has come from there, but not all of it.....in fact a lot of my "high end" sps has either been bought elsewhere or from canreef peeps.....most monthes I do get a paycheck from Kevin....Im not really that bad for taking stuff home....although in November my check for the month was $60:lol:......this is entirely because Im trying to stockpile things that I will need for the tank in E-town......Ive been buying things like rowaphos, epoxy and glue, carbon, salt, spare heaters etc, etc, etc....I feel more like a dealer when Im at the shop than a pimp, feeding the coral junkies fixes:wink:

For the big move to our town, would you need extra things like battery operated air pumps?? I've got quite a few of them (6+), so if you need them, lmk.
I also have extra small heaters, 10' (or is it 12'?)trailer for furniture and tanks:mrgreen:. 6' diameter pool-style tub to put everything into until you got the tanks set up...

The idea is to have his big tank up and running before he comes, but good to know just in case

thanks for the offer Lenny.....have I ever mentioned how much Canreef people rock?........ I just may take you up on that......but like Laurie said.....we're gonna try and get the big tank running and cycled with the dry and live rock that is cooking in E-town already( about 50lbs dry and 30ish lbs live).......my coral is going up and being dispersed to various babysitters in small batches each time Laurie and I visit each other....the livestock from the small tank will be going up there shortly and into Laurie's 34g cube.....the goal is to have only the rock from the system and fish to move when I finally shut the 110 down.....I will then be tank-less for a while, while I get my house moved up there......man thats gonna be weird not having a tank:neutral:.....

so I have made up my mind about the lighting for the E-town tank...I had decided for sure that bulb changes would kill me on a tank that size so I was gonna go LED.....I waffled back and forth several times between the AI Sols and the Radion.....its somewhat a good thing that I waffled for so long as it gave time for people to have these units and start giving some feedback......I decided on the Radions(wallet is gonna hurt for monthes)......I been playing with one for a few days now and I am super impressed with the features and program-ability on it.....obviously one isnt enough for the 110g so I have it over the 25g.....Im thinking of starting with four for the new tank.....if four isnt enough then I will pull one off and put my T5s in the back al le Levi.....I rent so I couldnt hang the unit.....this is what I came up with with inspiration from that Mr. Salty tank dude.....its kinda ghetto but it being over the 25g is only temporary, so it is good enough for now...I used a plank of wood and a pair of TEK legs that I already had......it actually was so easy that I may do something similar for the new tank , except a little fancier

Tank looks AMAZING under that Radion mang! Oh, wait ... um... In my defense, I thought that was just something you're supposed to say when someone posts anything about Radions.

Nice mounting work though! Funny how it makes ghetto look ... not really very ghetto at all.

lastlight 01-10-2012 08:20 PM

Doug it beats the pants off the kit Ecotech doesn't include lol. You could even apply a stain to that badboy

Before ya leave for e-town please drop your badge off at my place. YOU KNOW WHICH ONE! :twised:

thanks guys......like I said this one is just a temporary thing ....just so I could play with the light......probably wont do too much more to it.....but ya it doesnt look too bad, so thats what got my considering doing the same thing for the big tank..... would probably do a wider board and the holes staggered slightly front to back.....either 45 off the square corners of the board or round them off.....router a rounded profile on the edges, just cuz I can.....small 1/2 "x1/4" trim around the lights just to keep them in place.....Im thinking maple for the wood with just a marine grade varnish to keep it natural.......that would look cool with the black tek legs and black lights......

how did I know you would say something about the club.......can I just turn in half the badge???......it only on one of my tanks.....and the small one at that:mrgreen:

and um.....havnt taken any pics of the coral under the LED yet:razz:.......thats all T5 you see there Tony:wink:

Uhm .. no... I was looking at the little tank. You know .. the one needing a slight cleaning of the glass in those pictures :p

Delphinus 01-10-2012 10:02 PM

That one picture with the chromis in front of the PBT ... the chromis practically blends into the PBT. It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on there

Love the shot from the end looking down the front - that tank is doing awesome. Zoa patches look pretty keen too.

that chromis does kinda blend in doesnt he?......all I could think of when I took that shot is "stupid chromis wrecked what would have been a pretty good pic of the PBT
