Bblinks 07-11-2013 04:37 PM

Just got my delivery (4 WP40s) from Harry a little while ago. Will get a couple of them running in a bath tub for a day or so to break in, and then try them out in one of my tanks.

Thanks, Nick, for putting the group order together for us, at a great price. And thanks to Harry for the delivery. Can't ask for anything better...

Harry is headed to Kelly's place next, and then on to J&L's, I think.

Yeah, I know... I posted individual coral pics a while back, but not a FTS. I don't have a good cam right now, and my iPad just doesn't cut it. But one of these days, will make an effort again... Of course, you can always drop by and see how all your frags (mini colonies now) are doing...:twised:

Ok, packing up the last of the orders and have a bit of an issue. I was send an extra case of wp25s and 1 short of wp40s. Is there anyone that is considering that a wp40 may be to big and wants to swap for a wp25? or someone that can wait a week for more wp40s to arrive?? anyone that can wait or willing to swap to the wp25 will get some free goods with their light or good bit of store credit(if you are wanting to buy something in future). If not i will just pack up all until they are gone. I am hoping someone is setting up a tank or going on holidays and can wait so i don't have to randomly shaft someone with more wait. Sorry for any inconvenience and please pm me if you can save the day.

Thanks

craigwmiller 07-12-2013 06:15 AM

Nick, I can wait, and I'll actually be in Kelowna on the 29th for a week (coming from Edmonton).

If the two that I ordered are enough to help you out, you can hold off on mine. I can pick them up that week, or wait till till a week later. (I need them the week of August 15th - when I'm doing the tank install (and taking possession of the house :D )).

If I can get a confirmation on the diameter of the output nozzle @ 55mm then that's enough for now for the tank builder to make me a hole :D

Cheers!
Craig

nrosdal 07-12-2013 06:28 AM

That is great Craig. Thank you very much. Anyone else feeling charitable/patient?

Din Gior 07-12-2013 07:05 AM

Thank you Nick and Harry! Amazing and very quiet powerhead.

These are the new versions yes? (with the variable speed too?)

I assume my WP40's are the new version, as I noticed they don't exactly match the enclosed instruction sheet. My controller has 3 constant speed levels (H1, H2, H3) while the instructions only list 2 (H, L). And the W1 pulse control has 3 speed positions as well (S1, S2, S3). So that gives you a few speed options.

I'm running a couple pumps in the bath tub right now. They seem to work well. I do notice, though, the pulse duration knob doesn't seem to give much range for a wave duration cycle.

I also have the Coralife Wavemaker pumps (DC5800) and their pulse cycle is up to 60 seconds. I found that on the short cycle (about 5 seconds) it was too hard on the pumps (ramping up from low power to full blast), and I had wear on the shafts and bushings. But Coralife replaced them (lifetime warranty), and I now run them at the longer cycle, and they seem to be holding up OK for now.

So I hope these WP40s are tough enough to handle a short high powered pulse duration (no power to full every few seconds). They are cheap, though, so not a big loss if they don't last too long.

Pumps

I got my WP40 yesterday, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. It looks awesome though.

Nick - Thanks for putting this all together and getting us such a great deal!

Harry - You're the best. Never mind hand delivery of the pumps for everyone, but my bonus was was the best (Chris was over in 15 minutes when he knew what I had for him). My tank is your tank, come by and take what you want!

I got an extra wp40 if you need it Nick. LMK

Reef Pilot 07-12-2013 04:28 PM

Nick, how many do you need? I have 4 WP40s and was planning to deploy them all right away. But I could hold off on 2 of them for a month or so, if you are desperate. LMK.

patman 07-12-2013 05:14 PM

My two 25's on opposite end of my 90 kicked quite a storm when I put them in yesterday. Way more flow than my Koralia's. Nick, if you get some more 40's before the 24th, I'm going down to Vancouver and can deliver them for anyone that holds off.

nrosdal 07-12-2013 05:27 PM

Thanks for the offers.. but by the time you guys send it here i should be getting another batch(i have some leaving china right away to arrive late next week) so unless someone that hasn't received shipping info yet wants to hold off and get some fee stuff/store credit. I am going to have to randomly short a couple pumps to someone. Sorry for the situation but i will fix it asap.

kole 07-12-2013 09:36 PM

I can wait on my order. Its replacing pumps already installed and I like free stuff!

nrosdal 07-12-2013 09:45 PM

haha nice, was just putting label on your box. Great timing.

icy.bing 07-12-2013 09:49 PM

we going to get a tracking number? =D

nrosdal 07-12-2013 10:40 PM

late today i will enter all tracking info. All but 1 orders were able to be filled so i had to pick the last one to come in. Not in GB so don't panic unless you have received a message that yours is not coming or you contacted me and saved a few sad faces with your patience.

Nick

nrosdal 07-13-2013 01:19 AM

Last load finally went out this afternoon. Tracking will be coming in the following hours.

daplatapus 07-13-2013 02:05 AM

Haha, that's quite the load. Out of curiosity ( and you can ignore the ?)but how many pumps did you end up ordering?

nrosdal 07-13-2013 02:12 AM

98 ordered. 17 left. Most went to group buy people.

H2o2 07-13-2013 02:17 AM

Thanks for the offer Kelly and it was nice meeting people and seeing some nice tanks

I just got out of hospital and am doing some "bed rest" forum reading...

Anyway I can still get in on this, since you have some left overs?

nrosdal 07-15-2013 10:18 PM

There are some left for sale. But I need to try to make a couple bucks on the remaining units so they will have to be sold at regular price. You can use the CANREEF promo code and get a few $ off.

craigwmiller 07-16-2013 05:52 AM

Can I get some measurements from the WP-40 output? I'm having an external wavebox built (with a tank) and the wavebox is designed around one of the new WP-40's being inside, with the hole drilled in the tank back wall somewhat critical to make large enough (though without being tooooo large ;) )

I've read 55mm outside diameter, but if I can get someone to confirm that would be great!

Also the long-wise dimensions (with and without the mount).
A few pictures of it sitting next to a tape measure would probably be reasonable enough :D

Nick - do you think you'll have mine ready when I'm in Kelowna there (July 29 -> Aug 5ish)? (you are in Kelowna, right? :D )

Thanks!
Craig

icy.bing 07-17-2013 06:32 PM

Thanks Nick, just received my powerheads.

When i am back in the office i can measure one up for ya and even measure the opening that is on the Marinetech wavebox to give an idea of what size hole might work well(in a few hours).

I can't think of them not being her by mid week next week. So even if things go horribly wrong they will be here in time for you when you are in Kelowna.

htfn 07-17-2013 08:51 PM

Thanks Nick
I've got mine.

nrosdal 07-17-2013 08:58 PM

Glad to hear peoples items are arriving safe and sound. Packed em up as best i could. I was super impressed with the sheet metal lined boxes that Jebao sent them in. My last few batches came in pretty beat up but these had a few crushed corners and thats about the extent of it.

Feel free to post pics/reviews/thoughts here good and bad. One thing to keep in mind is that they can be a bit loud when first getting going. I have found that they always quiet down after a week or so of use.

Please don't forget to review items purchased on our site as it really helps give piece of mind to people that are waffling about buying one. It is very easy just go to www.reefsupplycanada.com and review whatever you bought or follow the link that will be sent after your order is marked as received.

Thanks

So what does everyone think of their new Jebaos?

Would you recommend 2xWP25 or 1 WP40 for a 6' 180g (ish) full reef (mostly LPS)?

Anyone local who has a spare I can try out before I order?

Thanks,

Anthony 604-868-5553

I love my 2 WP40's in my 6' 100g tank. Definitely not too much flow, and would not recommend the WP25's for a 180 6 footer. And with the controller, you can dial them down under some of the flow type settings. Eventually, I would like to tie them into my Apex.

Really depends on lay out. I started with 2 40's on the far side, but ended up with 4 25's, one in each corner. I find the 25's a little louder than the 40's, but I have them dialed up a bit more. If I limit them to 92%, I cannot hear them at all. At 100% they seem to whine a bit, definitely a benefit with tying them into my profilux.

banditpowdercoat 09-09-2013 03:36 PM

2 25s. One on each end of my 60" tank. Get about a 1" wave. Wired to my apex and alternating. One on one off. 100% I have other pumps to contribute to flow too. Built a pretty random flow prog in apex that simulates a reef crest. And has stormy and calm period

Magma 09-10-2013 12:08 AM

I have 1 WP40 in a 6' 125gal, Its more than enough and I only have it set to about 50% on Wave 3. Really happy with it and the night time mode.

Thinking I may add a WP25 on the opposite end in the future.

chris121277 09-10-2013 01:25 AM

I have a WP40 in a 90 (1/2 SPS and 1/2 LPS) and everything is doing well. Very impressed for the price.

Kraken 09-10-2013 04:59 PM

Yeah, the WP25's are very good pieces of equipment for the price. We carry them because of the great reviews we had.

ashr 11-26-2013 11:26 PM

I hope we can get one of these :)
When will they be in stock next?
