It was a perfect day for getting out of the house, you couldn't have asked for better weather in Alberta.

It fits at least 200 people

There was some salty stuff (frags, a few fish and equipment) at the auction in the spring. Yes most of it was freshwater, but there was some marine.

We got lucky.

I was thinking that exact same thought today

Great Day

A huge Thanks to Ken for the hospitality .
It was a great chance to meet some of the people from Canreef.
I got home @ 10:00 Pm last night with 3 jammed boxes of fish and corals for the 3 tanks. I would say that my eyes were much bigger than my tanks. Got last 2 paly frags from Grizz in my tank at 3:00AM. There was an amazing selection of corals to chose from, and I'm sure I looked like the proverbial kid in a candy store. (rather big kid mind you)
Was nice to meet everyone and can't wait until next year.

Thanks all.

Why not see about doing it with them?

Good point I have mentioned this several times, the Aquarium club of Edmonton has monthly meetings and news letters. They have 2 auctions a year, and occasionally a show.
Anyone can attend the meetings and auctions and for the low price of $25 per year you can become a member. Members receive the monthly news letters and are able to bring items to be sold at the auction. Some of the local stores also give aquarium club members nice discounts.
If more "reefers" became involved there would be more items of interest in the auction and maybe some more stores would start giving a discount to members.

Thanks, I wanted so much more :twised: I definitely over did it a bit. I suppose that if I had regular access to the selection in Edmonton I would have been a bit more selective. My non reefing buddy was laughing at me all day long.

I'm kida still connected with ACE, I'll see what I can do. I actually own the website they run.

Maybe we can do an Auction of our own in the future, just need a decent venue (hey Lenny, can I use your party room?)

I know they do them a lot in the USA, as I was at a few in the oast.
