Very upset to come home yesterday to a empty clam shell. Today i came home to the file fish wearing a clam on his face. Clam looks of but file fish has a sore looking nose.

fishytime 12-08-2010 12:48 AM

eeeek!.....so whatcha do about your little offender?:twised:

BlueTang<3 12-08-2010 12:54 AM

He can now live in the frag tank he did such a good job of cleaning the aiptasia i cant really be mad at him.

outacontrol 12-08-2010 03:21 AM

Sorry to hear about the clam, hopefully both the clam and filefish pull through.
Good news is at least you know for sure who is to blame.

BlueTang<3 12-11-2010 01:54 AM

He was barely swimming reached in and picked in to pick him out. Separated the clam with a screwdriver to free the fish. Both subjects are doing great.

lastlight 12-11-2010 02:20 AM

Holy sweet photo it's not everyday you see that! It's always nice when you discover the cause of some reef-related issue AND get to have a solution as easy as that too.

Yeah he is starting to look better when i first got him i took him right out of the bag almost. He was in the bag for 4 days i heard. Was not looking to promising the first few days http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/y...3/IMG_2040.jpg

Delphinus 12-17-2010 02:13 AM

Definitely looking a lot better! I'd be surprised if he doesn't pull through, haddoni's are usually pretty hardy. Mine ate everything in sight and that's why I don't have haddoni anymore but if I ever came across a pink or a red man I'd have a hard time sticking to my guns about not having haddoni anymore.

Looks super awesome Wes.
I was wondering who was going to snag that...

did you roll out the red carpet in the big tank Wes?.....very nice BTW:biggrin:

BlueTang<3 12-18-2010 02:12 PM

No changed my frag tank into the carpet tank. He has eaten one of the clowns i put in with him already tho. and is still inflating and deflating. Were at a week in hoping he makes it. Ive been told if it makes 2 weeks its a almost sure thing to live.

BlueTang<3 12-18-2010 02:20 PM

Wayne 12-22-2010 03:36 AM

happy new year!
that looks really good

BlueTang<3 01-01-2011 10:08 PM

You will have to come see it the carpets love the flow about 4000gph in a 20 gallon tank. Green shimmers in the leds. Happy new year to you too.

Delphinus 01-01-2011 11:39 PM

What kind of gravel do you have that stays put in that?

viperfish 01-02-2011 03:48 AM

I am so jealous! Those carpets and those clowns, very nice setup. Now all you need is a blue carpet and you'll have the whole set, ha ha!

In my display with my 2 mp60's cranked up and the one 40 in there plus return i think i have 18 000 in the display tank. I think flow is a pretty well important.

Thanks i love the carpets, they have good colours and the gigantas have sweet tentacles the clowns can be sitting in the tank and you'll never see them.

Those carpets are looking great, hope they have behaved themselves and haven't eaten any more fish.

The smaller tank is crushed coral that i dropped the bag a few times to break up the shells and rocks. I like flow so it needs to be big substrate.
