ICE CooL.E.D  27W 60degree optics top left prototype 20K, right and bottem left 14k http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...f/DSC_0086.jpg http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...f/DSC_0091.jpg http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...f/DSC_0085.jpg sps is still recovering from tank move and dyno thanks alot to the OC team for the lights! super excited about them and i will keep the pictures updated and let them do the talking:lol: |
That is freaking cool! Those lights look SO Zen.... Glad you like em!
thats just beautiful! I love it! and why isnt that frogfish eating corals? or does it just eat fish?
wow..,
I should stop looking...the more i look at the tanks with these ICE CooL.E.Ds the more i want to switch my 30g lighting into it....STOP TEMPTING ME!!
How are you liking the dual colored shimmer lines:lol: That was the weirdest part of the LEDs for me when i first used one. Still cant get over how the refraction of light from surface movement actually breaks the colors back into its own spectrum. |
welll maybe its time for a change:lol:
i really like the multi color shimmers its pretty cool looking.. its sorta hard to process if you stair at it alot... almost like my eyes brain are messing up.... if that makes sence got some pictures of it http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...f/DSC_0130.jpg http://i324.photobucket.com/albums/k...f/DSC_0132.jpg |

The multi color shimmer is probably the hardest thing to get used to at first but it grows on you quite fast i find. Hows the coverage with the 60 degree optics for you? do you still find it too concentrated? and how well is the tank light with the use of 3 of them? |
last 2 pics are just the 20k.
i think it would be covers really will if i switched the 20k to 80degree the front right corner doesnt get much light neither does the back right on the left of the over flow. the little desk lamps i have arnt strong enough to keep the lights pointing straight down on the tank. i need to find a cheap source for desk lamps like this http://www.desklamp.org.uk/images/desk-lamp.jpg i was thinking i would just drill and tap some holes into my wall brackets then use a die to thread the peg at the base of the lamp. but theses are sort big ugly and awkward looking.... so i will have to do more searching |
man that is wicked looking well done, i love the LED and no heat either. now what is a person suppose to do with out evaporation now...
thanks,
haha still lots evap from the A/C but it will be nice in the winter |
Wonderful tank.
In the last set of pictures what is in the third one (green)? Thanks. |
Great idea with the frag plugs and the ric's, I can't wait to see them grown in (Which I'm sure will be nice and fast). That multi color shimmer is amazing, props to OC for bringing in another fantastic product!

I love how I keep coming back to read this thread to see clams and there aren't actually any in there. But it's a great tank, love the look of it.

ahh ya all my clams died in the last few weeks. one i had for just about 4 years.. i still cant figure out what happend to them |
Ohhh... darn it. Man I am sorry to hear that. :(
haha ya it sucks.. but i dont have to worry about them anymore..
can a threads name be changed? |
Is it possible they died because of not enough light?
maybe but they didnt show signs of lack of light.
can a threads name be changed?[/quote]
Yes first post click edit click then bottom right hit go advanced and u can edit the title there. Great tank. Is it possible the clams were attacked form pyramid snails, or pinched mantle. I don't under stand where the snails come from but my old sand bed i had to remove the clams every few days and scrub the snails off, they totally stress out the clam and eventually go for the insides. |
thanks,
i checked every now and then for snails and never saw any. |

Wow you keep the glass and top edge of the glass clean! Tank's looking great. While it's not really a natural look... over time the tile bottom has grown on me and definitely looks interesting. With a small tank I think it'd be really cool to slice a large sandy-looking floor tile to size.
that would be pretty cool to do. you would have to find some sort of ocean sand stone. i wonder how the tile like i have would look with sand on top.
:lol:hi what kind of silicon can you use i am doing a 65 gallon with a sump and i need to no what kind of silicon it will help me alot
thanks so much my email is jacob.pfeiffer@hotmail.com thanks guys |
I am really curious about the LED lamps, You've had them for 2 months how are you finding the coral health compared to the halide you had on there?

as I plan on doing LED lighting on mine... not plan... I am doing LED lighting and I want to know that it was a good choice :D |
the death of my clams... i cant really tie that to the change of light.
the only change i have noticed is my low light corals have colored up a bit not because of lower light but because i can change were i want more light and less. |
those rics look very nice.
looks awsome. your florida garden is amazing
Wow is that frogspawn ever gorgeous. Looks far nicer than mine the green is awesome. Tank looks great what's with that little box in there?
haha thats the for sale mini nem box. its alot easyer to remove them from smooth plastic then it is from rock. i know its super ugly but it will have to do for now.
Thats so cool. Are those tiles for fragging or? And how do you like the LED's?
fragging and just something different. and the leds are nice alot less heat but on par with my old 150W mh.
Why did you put sand over the tile? That was my favourite part about this tank.
