My favourite night time coral is my open brain under moonlights. It becomes a completely different coral

Darryl - your macro shots are amazing. You're gonna have to teach me to nail the shots like that some day (please!) :)

How about these beatiful palys! Gotta think of a catchy name for them.

Thanks. You sure you want me to show you? I have a hard drive full of bad pictures, not all of them turn out well :) I can give you a show and tell on my technique whenever you want, just PM me.

Very nice!!! Do you keep your zoo's near the bottom of your tank? How do they like the intense light that's usally present in a SPS reef?

All my zoas and palys sit on the substrate. I recently had to move them all to my frag tanks however as I have some type of worm in my tank who likes to eat my zoas!

I had one of those, he was two feet long and fugly. I'm pretty sure he was an Eunicid worm. Loved to snack on zoos and ricordeas  |
Expensive snacks. Like Kobe beef for us

Managed to get a couple cool shot of my favia avec feeder tentacles.

Did you get rid of it? If so how? I see no way to do it without removing the rockwork. I have since removed all my rics, zoas and palys to the frag tank.

on the upper right of this picture, is that a streak on the glass. I am hoping it's not a "red bug" web. That is just the sort of acro they love to infest. Say it aint so.... It seems to have reasonable polyp extension so probably not. |
Ah red bugs, the worst thing that has ever happened to me in the hobby.
That is a pretty piece Christy! Thanks for the photo Marie, your brain is really pretty. |
Dave, I ended up removing all the rock as I was moving the tank anyways. It had gotten to the point where it was eating anything resembling a soft coral as well as stealing all of my unmounted frags to tuck into its fortress (I pulled out several pieces). I ended up moving all of my ricordea and zoos to another tank in order to save them as it was mowing them down at an alarming rate. I knew it was something large as it was actually moving bali plugs from one side of the tank to the other (and those are pretty large and heavy IMO). Other than physically removing it, I have no idea how to get it out. Perhaps some tasty zoos in a pop bottle??
Greg, I treated for red bugs a couple months ago and they had better not be back. I do have stray mucous strands from various vermetid snails in the tank. Lets pretend thats what it is until I can get home to have a good look at the tank on Friday  (and it had better not be a scratch in the glass!!) Thanks for the compliments Catherine. I was actually surprised the camera got the color on this one. Seems I either get the color right or its in focus. This time it was color  |
Few more..
This one has potential..but I need more space :( http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...8600Medium.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...8592Medium.jpg |
Great looking pieces Darryl.
|
I agree with Greg, those are beautiful pieces Darryl.
I'm excited for you to get your website up and running. |
|
Beautiful corals and pictures!
|
Jason - nice collection! In your last picture you have a fuzzy colony in the background, behind the purple tip nana..what is that?
|
Jason I must say those photo's don't do those pieces justice. The piece to the left of the purple tip nana and the nana look amazing in person.

I'm honestly not sure what it is. I'll take a better pic of it once the MH come on and maybe we can all figure it out. Quote:

Here is a close up of the Arco Clubreef was asking about. For some reason it doesn't let me camera focus well.
