So... how come we didn't see you at any of the PG Reef Tank Tour showings? Do you work Sundays? Staffan, Doug, George, Craig, myself and everyone else on the 40 person emailing list are all very receptive to meeting new people and sharing our experiences and advice (plus you get to see some tanks in person). .

I would like to see them but my work and personal life schedule have been getting in the way and because I work shift and days off change every week gets a lil more challenging

A good introductory book would answer a lot of questions that new people ask before they ask them. But books are long, boring and expensive whereas internet answers are short, lively and free so I guess that wont ever change. The search function works well too.

I work with Shaun and he was the dope that got me into this and he gave me lots of literature which helped immensely and I did lots of reading on the net and getting keyboard face and tried not to ask the same questions as every other person has:biggrin: and unfortunately have had a rough start temp hand paralylis, partial tank kill,PITA cats and a few other things but the good news or sad news depending on how look at it is I'm hooked on SW

I too have created accounts on RC, Ultimate Reef, Reef Frontiers, TGVAS, BCAquaria etc. But its pretty much the same everywhere. Canreef has the advantage of being local/national, relevant and just active enough.

As I said I joined several forum sites to learn and before canreef I was on reef central and American Aquarists(that site is now down) and both flamed nano systems a lot then I joined Canreef and nano-reef both have helped me lots but found nano-reef to be very american do it my way or else still visit but never post

Some people on here have nanos with more gadgetry, that are more expensive and contain more specimens than the average persons +100gal system. Their basic requirements are no differen't than a large tank. In some ways they are actually more difficult to keep

Aye and very impressive to boot only wish my tank could look half as impressive but for a first time setup I think I've done ok but I am probably going to be upgrading soonish to a 90 gallon and a whole new learning experience sumps/plumbing,overflows, new gadgets and tons of crying over an empty wallet
