Blackberry Tour Here

Have the iMac and an iPod Touch but I'm not interested in the iPhone. I actually like the complex BB menu system and the true push email/multitasking. I use the phone for business as well.

I've had my BB Pearl now for almost three years and I still love using it. It's very compact and just about indestructible, it's been dropped many times on hard surfaces and "still keeps on ticking."

But can't you flash your phone back to an earlier version? Or flash from a choice of hundreds of other community based cooked ROMS Total customization and control of the phone you own? Oh sorry thats Android only.

I just gave my wife the BB Bold 9000, and got me the BB Bold 9700

I loved my old BB, but can say the BB Bold 9700 is even better:
- sleeker design
- even faster
- the new OS is great, and even better

If you are on the 3G (not 3GS) then really I would not bother with OS4. Limited extra features and the hardware doesn't have as much horsepower. that being said, Apple is investigating why some 3G iPhones are having slowdowns and others aren't.

Personally, I think Apple's more tightly controlled environment is better for 98.3% of users. Yes, the techno geeks want total customization etc. but the average person wants something stable and easy to use/upgrade etc. out of the box. We don't want to customize/mess with it. We just want it to be an easy to use tool that gets the job done in a well designed, well integrated and efficient way. Oh wait, that's the iPhone

And Apple's tighter control leads to lower chances of hackers/problems:

My point here Ron is Lastlight had a perfectly working iPhone, presumably 1st generation, which now is not usable to him because of a FORCED upgrade of the iOS. This leaves him with a laggy phone he must learn to live with or as Apple is hoping he purchase a new iPhone for $600+.

Ron your point that iPhone is stable does not apply to those who found the latest iOS upgrade made their phone unusable.

If he had an Android phone he could roll back to the version that was working for him. Total control. I hope if lastlight is looking for a new phone he takes a look at an Android before purchasing.
