Hi,

I would recommend the BM220cs for a heavily populated tank.

Yes BM do cover our claims if there was one, but only cover OUR claims, they have records of our purchases and if i tried to claim for a product we did not buy from them they would ask us to refer the claim to the distributor that did.

Walk into he sony store and ask them warranty a tv you bought at walmart and see what they say? ;) same policy really.

I will look the BM220C up, thanks! Thanks for clarifying that BM is the actual warranty provider. My concern was that if you were directly doing the warranty and decided not to carry BM products anymore that the BM company wouldn't honor any repairs/replacements. BTW what is the BM warranty? Sorry for all the questions I just don't know much about the company but people seem happy with the product. Thanks:biggrin:

Hi

If i went unde tomorrow, you would go to BM and they would look up your product key and realise it was one of mine and help you out directly, just as Sony would ;)

The warranty is one year, the standard warranty with most skimmers I think.

Please feel free to ask questions I am here to help.

Thanks again! I looked the BM220CS up and it looks like a nice skimmer, it's good to see that it comes with an Eheim pump too. Now I just have to convince the wife of the all the good things that come from having a 180g tank. She's still under the silly impression that my 25g reef tank is good enough.

Since most people thing bigger is better? and your wife thinks your 25gal is good, wouldn't a 180gal be better. heh?!

Well the BM 220 has broken in pretty good i have it in 10" of water and its skimming like a champ. Im running it at the 3-2 level on the dial. and man its pulling some nasty crap out too. IMO better then that crap Vertex 170 that is rated for 200 gallons on a heavy stocked SPS /CLAMS Yeah right.

BM the way to go sometimes Cheap is better with a good pump no complaints from me....

Pictures to follow tomorrow

Well I was only able to negotiate a 90g tank but it's still better than my 25g I have now. I am thinking I will go with the NAC7 for the tank and see how the Atman pump and mesh wheel holds out in the long run. I think the 220 would be a little much for this smaller tank.

Aqua-Digital 07-04-2010 12:07 PM

For a 90 gal I would go for the BM150pro at $379 this comes with the aqua bee pump

Or the NAC6a this comes with the Atman.

The NAC7 might be a bit over kill on a 90 gallon system as its rated up to 250gals

All depends if you are after a cone over a cylinder also, but my BM150pro is kicking ass have a look at it in my tank build here

Skimmerking 07-04-2010 02:17 PM

take the 250 gal one its better to have some back up in the skimmer when you need it you wont be sorry .

the cone is a good style too

Skimmerking 07-29-2010 12:35 AM

Mike I have a question for ya. My Cone is running in 10" of water now Im trying some thing different i have my old air defuser from my old Deltec skimmer and i have it on the air intake to fine adjust the bubbles is that ok on the pump.
