Can a mod please remove the part of my title that says (new barnacle blenny pic's Jan 29) Thanks.
Got some new friends and new pic's Blue stripe pipefish http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0144.jpg Red spotted goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0140.jpg New green brain coral which I got a sweet deal on because it was mislabeled at the store  http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0143.jpg pic of my green birdsnest, which I added to the tank for my green clown goby to host in, which he ignores of course. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0145.jpg |
Branacle blenny in his home. After moving all around the tank the first week I had him, he found a spot on the top arch way rock, and this has been his home for awhile now. Very glad I epoxied that rock into place.

Finally the pic you've all been waiting for http://jukekartel.com/jkforum/images...es/drummer.gif
Yasha with candy cane pistol shrimp (you can actually see him in these pic's) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0141.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0142.jpg I had been taking a pic of the new red spot goby when I saw the pistol out and quickly got these pic's before he went back into his cave. |
Thought I'd give a bit of an update. First off my frogfish is still alive but he still is floating around and not eating frozen anymore, broke down and got chromis for him to eat (one a week) the past 2 weeks he has been eating them  Don't really feel good about it but I couldn't sit around and watch him starve.
On a happier note here's some pic's from the 34g cube Peek-a-boo http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0175.jpg My newest goby a green banded goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0166.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0171.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0156.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0155.jpg |
Those gobies are cute beyond description! Haha.
Sorry to hear about the frogfish. Such a cool fish. Hope he pulls through. ... Have you thought about mollies for food? There's this store in Calgary, dunno maybe you've heard of it already, that sells SW acclimated mollies for this purpose. |
I just buy freshwater, and acclimatize them slowly, although if he eats them right away, then less acclimatization would be needed. I have 2 adult mollies and 4 babies in my sump (saltwater) that I got as freshwater.

What store would that be  j/k I had thought about bringing some mollies home but wasn't sure if he would still be alive when I got back home so I didn't bring any back with me. Good news is he's still alive. Surprisingly the little chromis that's in there with him (#3, been in there about a week now) is still alive too. Sean at AI told me about Metronidazole by seachem and mentioned that it might help, but I don't know to much about it so I haven't tried it yet. http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod...onidazole.html Quote:

S.O.B.!!!!!!!!!! :bad-word::bad-word::bad-word: Went to Calgary this weekend and I just got back today and I walked by my 34g and saw a shrivelled dried up thing on the floor......upon closer inspection I realized it was my yasha goby :censored::censored::censored::hurt::cry:
R.I.P. :rip: Picture I took just before I left on Friday http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0168.jpg |

Laurie,
That really sux!!! It was such a beautiful fish. |
Hows your froggy doing? Big Al's ha a warty one that I want, but I havent got a tank for him, and I'm pretty sure he'll eat some of my wrasses.

After my experience and from hearing about others not having much success with frogfish I doubt I will ever try one again. Any frogfish would definitely eat wrasses. I saw film of a frogfish eating a lionfish in the wild, it was pretty crazy to watch, they are a species that need a tank to themselves. |
I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard that they'll eat anything that'll fit in their mouths. The only tank I have that I could put him in where he'd be the smallest occupant, he would probably get eaten (I'm "fish sitting" a stonefish, and I've no doubts he would eat the frog at the first opportunity).

So as I mentioned my froggy died and after a month of my 10g sitting empty I decided it was time for new life in there.
FTS http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0256.jpg Geometric pygmy hawkfish (circled his face) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/Untitled.jpg Gum drop goby, hiding in the middle of the red macro algae. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0261.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0262.jpg almost was able to get a pic of the front of him but he turned and all I got was his backside. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0267.jpg |
So last weekend I brought Doug's stuff up from his little tank
Doug's blue assessor http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0281-1.jpg Doug's tiny starry blenny http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0282-1.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0285.jpg Doug's red goby guy (also has a green one that looks the same but was hiding) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0286.jpg Doug's Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0287.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0289.jpg My barny blenny's new home, he found the perfect spot. A tiny hole in the rock http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0290.jpg |
Just after I finished work at my full time daycare job AI called me and asked if I could come in, I said sure. They just got a fish shipment in today and this guy (blue spot jawfish) followed me home
http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0279.jpg Seems to be doing good so far (all the fish are getting along well) and he ate 15mins after being added when I fed the tank:mrgreen: |
More pic's some Doug took and some I took

Doug took his coral back and I added some new coral and some new fish so I figured I would update this thread with new pic's. On a sad note my Blue spot jawfish died, found out they succumb to skin disease in warmer temp's. They need a colder tank 70-72, wish I had of known that before I got him
FTS http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0081.jpg Radiant wrasse (bought him for Doug however his leopard wrasse kept picking on him so he got moved into the 34g) He's doing great and is only 1 1/2 to 2" now but eventually the tank will be to small for him and he'll either go back to Doug's tank or into my 80g.......or maybe I'll upgrade to a 60g cube :twised: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0083.jpg new brain coral http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0084.jpg Duncan http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0085.jpg darth maul zoas (thanks Denny!) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0091.jpg golden torch (can't get the colour right ) http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0106-1.jpg reverse prism favia http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0115.jpg |
I also shut down my 10g and moved my gum drop goby and the trima goby over to the 34g.
After numerous tries (he hides 80% of the time) I finally got decent pic's of my gum drop goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0131-1.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...C_0135-1-1.jpg trima goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0121-1.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0125-1.jpg |
More pic's
pipefish http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0001-1.jpg Sexy shrimp http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0096.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0127-1.jpg Blue assessor http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0097.jpg golden neon evita goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...C_0107-1-1.jpg trimma goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0108.jpg Green clown goby and his brain he hosts in. Ironically because I put the green birdsnest in the tank for him to host in and he goes to the brain coral and the sexy shrimp stay in the bridsnest! Silly fish! http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...C_0109-1-1.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0122-1.jpg trimma goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0111-1.jpg Starry blenny http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0113-1.jpg http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0112-1.jpg pygmy possum wrasse and trimma goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0114-1.jpg green banded goby http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0119-1.jpg |

I have to say I love working at AI but it's getting hazardous to my wallet  They put a kessil led light above the nano display tank at work and I loved the look of it so much I let Dawn and Ron talk me into getting one for myself  So for the record this is all Dawn and Ron's fault! I debated for awhile on the 150 or 350 and went with the 350, I figured if I ever upgrade this tank to a 60g cube the 350 will work on it. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...g/DSC_0005.jpg Got it set up last night and I love it! Great colour and gives off a nice shimmer effect  I have it turned down to about half way until the corals get more used to led lights. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...DSC_0004-1.jpg Unfortunately the lights don't come on until later (they are on a timer) so I'll take more pic's when the light is on. Also while at work I saw some coral I had to have so I'll take pic's of it too later  |
New fts under the new Kessil light

love the gobies, this is exactly what i want to do with a cube , tons of small interesting fish. Youve got all the good ones and that wrassse is fantastic.
|
Thanks I have to say I love my little fish, very entertaining to watch and perfect in a small cube tank.
