Heehee, yup, a couple are.

noirsphynx 10-05-2009 03:13 PM

Just adding a pic of my newest additions. An anemone crab(Thanks Blue World Aquatics) who sits between the glass and some corals. I tried to get her to host in my hammer with no luck
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0157.jpg
and here's my super cute little warpaint goby.
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0156.jpg
I also bought a female pom pom crab heavy with eggs from Blue World Aquatics but didn't get a pic of her.

noirsphynx 10-05-2009 09:45 PM

Picked this up today.
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0095_4.jpg
It looks like some kind of tiny anemone. For size comparison, those are closed up zoa's beside it. Any ideas?

karazy 10-05-2009 10:08 PM

neat. that goby is really interesting.
how about a FTS?
and whats happening with your frogfish?

fishytime 10-06-2009 03:01 AM

Holy smokes Dawn....thats getting to be one impressive collection of zoas and palys....we should talk business some time:biggrin:

BlueWorldAquatic 10-06-2009 03:04 AM

Dawn,

Just wait until you see our "NANO" section. Inspired by you. "Blue NANO World", or "Little Blue World" section

I noticed not many LFS carry too many nano livestock.

Ken

Myka 10-06-2009 03:09 AM

Holy crap!! Niiiiiiiiiiiiice Zoas and Palys!

I am also impatiently awaiting a FTS. :D

noirsphynx 10-06-2009 03:47 AM

Definitely not a great FTS but here it is anyway. Some sps are still brown too

The Hammer, Torch, Cynaria & Brain will be moved to the new tank if I ever get around to building it  I did make a slight bit of progress I suppose. I ordered StevieT's media rack. which will go in the back chambers. I got the "not even released yet" cadlights 39 rack :twised: I bet that'd make a few US people po'd that are waiting for it, lol.
I also moved all my zoa's out and into a 20g until the new tank is done.

Thanks Laurie. I got him at AI. He was the only one there. I wish there were more because I would have bought two and tried making a pair.

noirsphynx 10-06-2009 09:44 PM

My little anemone that I just picked up looks to be a Rock Anemone

Myka 10-07-2009 12:46 AM

Your FTS looks awesome! Very colorful.

noirsphynx 10-08-2009 10:52 PM

Picked up an odd little shrimp today called a Helio shrimp (Periclimenes koroensis). When I got home I noticed she's carrying an abdomen full of eggs, too bad I'm not set up to try and raise them.

noirsphynx 10-09-2009 05:19 PM

Here's the odd new shrimp. She's difficult to see because she's completely transparent except for her red & white head.

Cornucopia of critters  In this shot there's a Porcelain crab, Helio shrimp, Pederson shrimp & 2 Sexy shrimp.

BlueAbyss 10-09-2009 07:45 PM

I think I need to track down a few shrimps, I don't see my crabs often enough  +1 on your tank looking awesome (and so clean!).

I love all the little shrimps you can get. The sad thing is I've had two other kinds of anemone shrimps in my tank that just never lasted  I really miss having them, they were really neat. One would sway side to side and one would clap it's hands

BlueAbyss 10-10-2009 01:30 AM

I've sort of been looking for Bumblebee shrimps (Gnathophyllum americanum). From what little I've read about them, they get to around 1.5 - 2 inches long, and aren't aggressive (reef safe too). I can't find that much information on them. They don't seem to be that common though I've seen them offered on a number of websites this year... My tank needs some variety and I love that pic of the different shrimps (and crab) together. Maybe a few shrimps and a pair of Pom Pom Crabs will add some much needed life to my reef.

Looking good anyhow, everyone seems to get along alright? I worry about adding something that will fight with my current livestock since everyone is getting along great these days (no aggression between my purple firefish and Hector's goby anymore).

I have one bumble bee in the tank and he's been completely reef safe. I'd like to get a second one. It's kinda funny to watch him annoy my tonga nassarius snails once in a while but he never does anything to them excpet maybe hitch a ride:lol:. Everyone in the tank gets along. The most I've seen is a tiny bit of bickering between my two male pom poms(I have 2 males & a female) but nothing major. I'd also like to add a pair of Harley's.

noirsphynx 10-10-2009 04:50 PM

StevieT's media rack arrived yesterday for the new cube :multi:

I have to say a huge thanks to lobsterboy for bringing some great frags to Edmonton. Here's what he brought me.
Green Polyp Birdsnest
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0102-1.jpg
Pink, Blue/Green Polyp Pocillipora
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0105-1.jpg
Blue Stag
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0106_2.jpg
Blue Coralite Purple Millepora
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...C_0107_2-1.jpg
Purple Austrea
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0112.jpg
Crayola Tabletop Acropora
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0096_2.jpg
Hot Pink Millepora
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0101_2.jpg
I also got one of my unknown acro frags back that I traded bignose for. I lost the colony it came from and it was turning a nice deep purple before I lost it.
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0106.jpg
Then I stopped at Blue World Aquatics and picked up these cuties:
Whitespot Anemone Shrimp(with eggs)
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0096_3.jpg
The suspected crested weedfish like fishoholics
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0107_3.jpg
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0109_2.jpg
and a teeny tiny sexy shrimp but I didn't take a pic.

fishoholic 10-13-2009 01:04 AM

So cool to see you got a weedfish too, I have to say you got a much better pic. of yours then I did of mine.

We were going to buy that anemone shrimp, but we were worried if it tried to host in the gbta the clownfish would harass it, and if it didn't have somewhere safe to stay my trigger or wrasse might make a meal out of it, however they leave my sexy and peppermint shrimp alone, so it might not of been an issue, but I didn't want to find out the hard way if it was. Nice to see it went to a good home.

I posted the pics on my NR thread as well and looky what someone said it was http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/6896/product.web That's exactly it. I wonder if the crested weedfish and the horned blenny are one in the same?

noirsphynx 10-13-2009 05:05 AM

Feeding time! My Purple Porcelain Crab & Anemone Porcelain Crab feeding. I love my inverts
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0108_3.jpg

noirsphynx 10-13-2009 05:53 AM

So I'm sitting watching the tank and all of a sudden I see hundreds of teeny tiny shrimp:surprise:. I think it's my new anemone shrimp releasing the eggs but then I notice one of my sexy shrimp happily expelling all her babies. I stuck my hand in and scooped some up and they sat on my hand and did little tiny jumping movements just like the adults. I'm so ticked that I'm not set up to raise these guys. I guess it's good food for my filter feeders and corals though:cry:.

fishytime 10-13-2009 03:06 PM

aw a proud Mama....thats very cool Dawn.

Yup, that's me:love::grouphug: I love all my tiny darlings. One of these days I might just try raising some of the invert babies that happen in my tank but for now they just become food:pout:

bignose 10-13-2009 11:42 PM

It's too bad when that happens. I feel the same way when all my clown eggs are eaten.

Leah 10-14-2009 11:38 AM

Your tank is just beautiful! And everything you have in there is so amazing. Love your tank!

BlueAbyss 10-14-2009 04:25 PM

Hmm, it's possible that some of those baby shrimp might make it in a 'fuge or something. Very cool! I have a large pair of Stomatella snails in my little 10 gallon that I have seen at least one of expelling 'something' in what looks like breeding behaviour... but I think they spend some time as plankton, so I don't expect to see small stomatellas sliding around anytime. It's awesome when stuff like this happens in tanks though... keep up the good work!

noirsphynx 10-18-2009 01:58 AM

Thanks Coral Master

Picked up Coral Masters "Bird of many Colors" recently. This is the best shot I could manage to get. Thanks Greg for bringing it to Edmonton with you:biggrin:.

I doubt any made it. Maybe next time I notice a pregnant female I might be able to manage and catch her and move her to a small refuge. It is very cool and it would be awesome to have some survive. Hopefully you'll get lots of Stomatellas, they reproduce like rabbits in my tank, there's always babies.
