Ooh, nice Snappy Shwag man. :) Jealous!!

Skimmerking 01-08-2009 12:34 AM

Well I thought and moved the frags off the frag rack and placed them in there final homes. Man its hard to figure out where to put certain frags.
So with out any more or myself wasting time here are some of the frags put in there new homes.
Kinda of disappointed in how much glue were used on fragging them on the plugs out of 16 frags i think that 4 might of stayed on. So there goes the guarantee.
If you ask me i guess when you are paying 12-18 bucks for a frags the size i got are ok if this is the size for full price WOW, you wont get me paying that price for those frags any more..

Boomboy 01-08-2009 12:59 AM

marie 01-08-2009 01:01 AM

Speaking of perfection, your Bubbleking should be broke in by now, is it skimming as good as you thought it should?

I thought the same thing when I got mine, but a week later and at least 1/4" new growth on most of them I feel better, great color and great growth=great deal in my books, I don't mind paying a premium for quality.

*Jealous*

Love the tank...huzah

Skimmerking 01-20-2009 02:52 AM

thanks for all the kind words, it has taken me from April 02 til now to get where Im at. I think that i have comealong way ,like we all have done.. yes i have made soem dumb mistakes in purchases tha i have bought but now. Im happy with what i have and where its going the sps are doign great so far. not real growth from Snappy's yet, may be its taking it time to get used to my tank... i have lost 3 frags so far from his order about 1-2 days after the deadline. one was from the bottom of the colony that never seen any light. the others jsut reseeded up from the bottom. Im done with buying frags. I found my store to buy my corals from. at THE REEF SHOPPE. that is the only place that i will get my stuff from... good sizes and awesome customer service is what i like.....

Yes Lance once the frags start growing i will be in big trouble .. but hey i dont mind. may be i can fill Doug's tank with pay back for all the help that he has given me and equipment over the years...

most likely i will be fragging a piece from each when i get them for DOug.... if he don't mind taking them from me...

Mrfish55 01-20-2009 03:51 AM

What frags did you lose? I lost two blue sky acros to stn last week and ordered about the same time you did, all but two monti frags are growing quite nice. I guess thats not too bad out of 22 frags but still I hate to see any losses.

Skimmerking 01-20-2009 12:55 PM

the blue acro's too and one of the stags i believe. but hey that was 16 that i ordered ,i too dont like to loose anything not even frags or even a snail.

TRS 01-21-2009 03:56 AM

Mike, Glad to hear that you are pleased with your new inhabitants from The Reef Shoppe. It is great to see how large SPS colonies such as this can handle a long trek during winter conditions. Apart from the Tri-Color Nana, damage looks minimal. Also happy to see that that Acro crab made the trip. Thanks for this post and your compliments. Let us know when you are ready for another shipment.

Kelly

Lance 01-21-2009 04:46 AM

Holy Crap Mike! With colonies that size, the new tank is going to be full mighty fast. Nice score!

Skimmerking 01-21-2009 05:26 PM

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...LL/Mike007.jpg

well this one is DEAD died last night, when i took it out of the box the bag was super hot from the heater bag it was sitting on. Im kinda mad that was the only coral that i didnt want to see get wacked.
i didnt think that it was going to make it. I was hoping thou, it was still slimy this morning when i got up still and the fish room smelled really bad too. And it was like some one snoted on the coral.

Boomboy 01-21-2009 06:06 PM

You got some really nice sized corals there. No more little frags for you, and the guy who sent them even followed up on the order, now that is customer service. Hey once i get my tank going im going to need some frags :wink: your tank is going to be full in no time then your going to need a new tank already.

Skimmerking 01-22-2009 01:05 AM

well this one is dead died over night along with the tri color acro, is half dead, I don't know what came over it. im stumped over the whole idea, pretty upset. and i was ready topack it in , this afternoon when i cam home and seen the humilis totally white the fish room stunk and the tri color was half dead.
Emailed Kelly at REEF shoppe and talked to him to vent and he said NOT TO WORRY I Will get you sorted out on the next bali shipment. WOW that blew me away. he didnt have to do anything. that is what makes him a wicked store owner. i don't even think he second guess the question just nope don't worry mike i will get you another one..:biggrin::biggrin:
A++++++++++++++++++++++++
Man i wish that he lived closer....

thanks KELLY you ROCK

I had a huge response to the Christmas sale so due to the heavier volume many of the frags never had a chance to get encrusted onto the plug. For what it's worth a frag coming off the plug that way would not void my warranty.

Skimmerking 03-06-2009 12:05 AM

well I took the plunge and bought 2 MP40 W vortech's one will be here tomorrow and the other in about 5 days after. why the spread in getting them. Well first i sold my tunze's and some other gear to get one. then i ended up selling alot of frags and soft corals that i had to buy te other. so what the heck..... pictures to follow.
and that was a quick $1000 spent on my tank...

Yeah, but those MP40W's are gonna rock your corals! And the battery back up is good for peace of mind. Do you get a lot of power outages there?

Skimmerking 03-06-2009 01:52 AM

Lance I didnt get the battery pack with them. not that i know I thought that I just bought the powerhead

digital-audiophile 03-06-2009 01:54 AM

You are going to LOVE the vortechs! I'm glad you picked them up.

The battery backup you need to buy seperate.. its like $250ish if I recall correctly. I have been meaning to buy one but have not yet.
