I noticed today that my acrylic box is getting pretty scuffed up so I'm sorry these are a bit blurry. I had several favorites today including my A tenuis. I apparently also had a thing for green polyps and I seem to like blue/purple too. It's funny that some days I start taking random pictures and then afterwards notice an under lying theme. So looking at these I think my theme today was one of "look maybe there's some potential here" - I guess time will tell.

that bubble gum is so cool.

niloc16 06-13-2007 04:38 AM

this piece is not quite this blue. but close. i cannot seem to get the camera to adjust to it. but still a cool one. i think it is a horrida? correct me if i'm wrong

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...f/100_1935.jpg

this frag started off as brown with a blue tip. its one of favorite pieces even though its not rare or anything but to see what it turned into is so cool. and i think this is a stag but not sure

ClubReef 06-13-2007 04:50 AM

Marc - Nice bubble gum..what type of lighting do you have them under? I got a frag from Acro a year ago..I'll post mine up shortly.

Nice corals BTW
Darryl

ClubReef 06-13-2007 05:10 AM

Here is my bubble gum. At first I didn't like it too much...but now it's tabling and looking HAWT.

Snappy 06-13-2007 06:40 AM

Nice stuff you guys. Darryl I think that piece is ready to frag.

niloc16 06-13-2007 07:02 AM

a few of the remaining LPS in my tank. the wife wont let me get rid of them because they 'move' unlike sps

Chaloupa 06-13-2007 07:05 AM

Colin...when you do convince her that you need to get rid of the blastos....they would look great in my tank ! they're beautiful!

SuperFudge 06-13-2007 02:23 PM

Daryll,

Its in a fairly bad spot for lighting, but the lights are 3-400w 14k and 2-250w 15k and 1-250w 20k....its sits closest to a 14k.

Time to switch bulbs pretty soon,im pretty impressed with the ushio 14k, i might go for all ushio.

your bubble gum is sweet....mines like hubba bubba while yours is big league chew...i get a toothache just lookin at it.

Marc.

ClubReef 06-13-2007 02:40 PM

Marc - My bubble gum was doing nothing for 8 months, it just sat there soaking up the light but not really improving (color or growth). Then 4 months ago the tips started sprouting..it's now one of my fastest growers. The BG got potential to be a big show piece..it's gonna look spectacular in your big tank !!.

michika 06-13-2007 04:46 PM

My hitchhiker coral which in the last month has taken off.

A frag from a purple colony which looks nothing like its parent.

SuperFudge 06-13-2007 05:05 PM

I bet If I was 4yrs old, i would have eaten some of those !

Nice stuff all !

Michika, that piece looks sweet, what a hitchiker to get... i see how it works, you get the bonsai`s, and i get the acro eating crabs and the mantis.
;)

Neon Tenuis,

SuperFudge 06-13-2007 05:16 PM

Here`s the kind of hitchiker i get...

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...shots001-1.jpg

This thing was a tank, what he has tucked under his carapace there would shock you, i watched it at night snap off branches 1/4" thick and take them to his hideout for dinner.

I bet if i had of chucked it on the neighbor`s lawn it would have just bust through the window to my house and hopped back in !

Very creepy

Delphinus 06-13-2007 07:51 PM

Marc I have about 12 of those little turds in my cube tank. It took me a while to figure out why I suddenly couldn't keep corals anymore in there (they kept disappearing).

I'm totally hooched though. 30" deep tank, the only way to remove them all is remove the rock. And it's all one big coral bommie with a 24" anemone on top. Why's that a problem? Because anytime it's moved, it gets annoyed. And when it's annoyed, it kills an entire tankload of fish. So I have fish that need to be moved. At this point I think it would just be easier to just set up a new dang tank.

Awww, c'mon. Give the LPS some TLC! I love those blastos. The top ones look identical to mine. So pretty.

niloc16 06-13-2007 09:55 PM

i enjoy LPS but i have setup my tank for the requirements of sps and the lighting is still too bright for them at the bottom of the tank. by the end of the day to the blastos look totally worn out. the frogspawns are actually hidden under rocks from the lighting.

Der_Iron_Chef 06-13-2007 10:22 PM

Wow, really?! I guess that does make sense!

Isn't that about the same time you got your new lights?

ClubReef 06-14-2007 02:16 AM

Greg - That is true..perhaps better light penetration then before? I'm glad I didn't demote it to the back the tank.

justinl 06-14-2007 06:32 AM

sweet thread. im so jealous of pretty much all the pieces ive seen in here. well here's my current fave. a single head of Duncan i got from CLINT. it has coloured up really nicely with green and purple. recently the mouth and tentacle tips went a really nice yellow. seems happy even if it doesnt grow terribly fast.

Mine remind me more of a sun coral.
