Anybody have an old 10,000k or 12,000k 175w MH bulb they could lend me for a week or two? I'd like to try one on my 37g in place of the 6500k bulb I'm currently running to see how the tank will look and if the ballast will be able to handle it.

Thanks

I have an old AB bulb sitting around. It is 10K, degrees Kelvin. It fires OK on my electronic ballast. The color is fine, but it is a bit flickery. If you want I could send it up with Al next week.

boB,

What's an AB bulb? Also, is it 175w, which is what my ballast will take?

Bob I 11-04-2004 03:40 PM

Dang you are a nuisance   . Now I have to write Aqualine Buschke, of which I am not certain how to spell it  . And yes, it is a 175W. If the bulb is in an exclosed top you won't notice the flickering. I had it in a pendant, and I could see the flicker on the wall.

Oh, that's me alright

Sure, send it up if Al would be kind enough to pick it up for me.

Thanks, boB and Al

Hey, speaking of equipment, does anybody have a small float switch floating  around that they would be willing to part with? OOO! How about a VERY small skimmer? How small, small enough to fit a 5.5 gal sump. Something like a little air powered one. Thanks!~!

mr_alberta 11-04-2004 05:15 PM

I have an extra float switch (needs to be wired up). I paid $12, so its yours for $12.

Let me know about the float switch though.

Hi Bev! I read your pm and it will be myself and my girlfriend. I'm very interested in meeting some fellow aquarists and maybe do some trading.

Edmonton Eskimo 11-18-2004 12:43 AM

oh ya and I wouldn't mind some zoo frags if anyone has any. I have some devils hand frags to trade if anyone is interested. Does anyone have a pump they want to part with?

jess128 11-18-2004 12:56 AM

Whoa, I lost track of this thread. So what date is the meet set for?

Richer 11-18-2004 01:09 AM

There now is a real possibility of my coming up. I have relatively few zoos available. There are some pictures in the Calgary forum in the thread "someone sell me some zoos" or something like that. The only problem now is that I have to be at the Hardisty Center in the late afternoon on the 27th. Then I will treat myself to a hotel. (maybe someone can find a reasonable one in the area, and make a reservation for me) Then on the 28th I could come to the meet, and return to Calgary in the evening.
If I bring some zoos the buyer will have to meet me on Saturday to pick up.

Edmonton Eskimo 11-18-2004 02:29 AM

so Bob do you have some available for me? And if so what color?

If Dez is coming, he will have to state his intention on this thread so I can PM him with address, etc.

I will know more later next week. If I do bring those frags we would have to meet on Saturday, as that is the day I would come up and I don't know Edmonton at all.

jess128 11-19-2004 02:51 AM

:frown: I can't come... I'm working that day.

Thanks boB, Al and Leeanne for getting boB's bulb to me.

However, that bulb isn't working well, so I'm still looking for an old 175W bulb of either 12000K or 14000K to try out on my 37g. Anybody have one of these, and if so, can you bring it to the meeting? TIA
