I'm not sure how much it weighs exactly, but it's chassis is 1/8" Aluminum, and the heatsink is aluminum as well I believe.

If you ask me, I'd say it'd weigh a couple pounds (hand estimate), so each side of the plate would need to hold up ~1 pound.

That is what I was thinking of as well but not an 'L' shaped notch just a straight slot at a bit of an angle. If I made it out or 1 1/2" x 1/4" flat bar it would last longer then the light.

Hey guys, sorry I added the hanging kit as an option without actually explaining it properly. A hanging kit will work with these brackets as well if you want to use one of those. See picture below. Butterfly insert from the hanging kit goes inside the mount. The hanging kit is sold separately however. If using a hanging kit is better to have 2 arms supporting the light to keep it steady. 2 arms plus one hanging kit is what you would need.

You can also send a diagram as I see you have done for the more solid mounting.

the three small holes are 1/4" in diameter and the larger hole for the slit is 1/2" in diameter as per the holes on my light fixture.

The part circled in red measures to be 1/8" thick, do you think there will be any problems holding up the lights with it being that thin?

Hi Kryos, there should not be a problem with that. The 1/8 will be fine as that is not really a stress point in it and it is really sturdy steel anyways. Just quote this thread with your order and I will make sure to pass the graphic on.

Thought I would share what I have done for my Radion's. I made this out of aluminum angle bar. Drilled it and notched out where the controls are on my Radion's. Works awesome!

Martin would you be able to sell me something that would fit for my 30 gallon cube? The plumbing is in the back so i would need the mounting bracket to fastened at the exterior edges of the tank stand. I cant find mounting brackets anywhere online that ship to canada. Any input would be much appreciated!

Looks great! Some black gloss spray paint from HD or somewhere does a good job of matching to the color of the Radions.
