DUDE you need to chill, I just read everything on the link you provided and you are so miss informed it's not even funny. The whole licensing thing only pertains to groups or organization that earns revenue over and above the prize values. Directly from the link you provided.

" If your group or organization is planning to hold a gaming event for the purpose of raising funds to benefit the broader community or a third party, you must apply for either a Class A, B or D gaming event licence. "

I even went one step further today to check this out. I had a meeting to go to at Stoney Nakota Resort & Casino in regards to Alberta Ride For Sight event that will be taking place there again this year. I asked the head admin about this & there is no license required for as small of a thing as this.

So in words you might understand what TheKid wants to do is not breaking an laws & you are the one giving bad advise not me. You have a really bad way of dealing with being told that you are incorrect with your whole " I really don't give a flying f@C* " and I really don't appreciate it directed at me.

If you don't give a flying f@C* then why do you continue to post in this thread. Delete you subscription and don't return to this thread. As zoom one else stated you must have nothing but time on your hands.

Exactly Lorenzo well said thank you.

You can't sell tickets for any game of chance unless you are licensed...raffles lotteries or otherwise.

Telling me to stay out,...your're the one who keeps dragging me back into this.

I was talking about this post, something else you know nothing about. I am not the one making you use you keyboard.

Now enough is enough, post some real proof stating that you can't legally do what TheKid and others have done or thinking of doing & I will stand corrected.

First link pertains to grants and doesn't apply, second link pertains to groups or organizations earning profit as a result of a raffle over and above the expenses of doing the raffle including prizes.

Laws like this are placed when a large amount of profit on a raffle can be made (stampede lotto for instance). In thekid's case, if this idea actually takes off he might make a little bit extra, he could also loss alot if the interest isn't there. If he sets a date for the draw he should stick with it, even if 2 people are the only ones involved.

Church...they fall into a whole different cat. and are licensed.
...

The lottery TheKid is proposing would require a class D license in BC being under $5000...there is also a whole more to it being a minor,...

I'm not going to sit here and spell it all out...

The only point I was initially making that if thekid was planning on going forward with any of this, he may want to spend the time and do some research before going forward.

without sounding like a broken record, do what ever you want, put those 10 tangs in that small tank, I don't care.

Man did this thread turn to chit. Interesting. I'm still in for buying a couple of tickets. So when you take up residence in Hope/Aggasiz i'll get my wife to make you a cake with a file in it.

The Grizz 05-07-2011 06:06 AM

Yes yes it has & I will supply the files
