Also what do you guys think about leaving the lights on? should i do 12 a day for 8 a day? or would i be okay with having them off?
|
was just looking i have tube worms! like 3-4 of them, i really like there little heads, they look like feather dusters, there not bad right?
|
well thought i might as well give a small update, getting rock sometime next week (calling and arranging on Monday) the sand is starting to get a red layer almost on it? not sure what this is almost looks like very tiny amount of rusting but i know its not, lots of critters on this rock, all very very small, some tube worms that poke their little fans out witch is cool, are these a form of feather dusters?

love the minimalistic approach, very classy! If you really want to make a statement, remove one of the rocks.
The film on your sand is probably diatoms. Pretty standard stuff for a new tank. It will die off as your cycle continues. |
well i guess thats one way of putting it, but more rock coming next week, that one piece was to nice to pass up anyways

ah did a very small water change (getting more water tuesday) hopfully rocks too
and i stirred up the sand |
Personally I would put more LR in the tank, try to create your landscape now or at least get a good start on it. Remember, each time you add LR you will basically throw your system into a cycle, depending on what was on the rock when added it can be minimal to a major cycle. So adding what is needed now, will allow you to cycle the tank, setup the natural filtration process and stabilize things.
Biggest thing is not to rush, in my case I didn't add fish for 2-3 months, allowed the tank to really setup nice. Taking your time will hopefully mean more successful tank. And have FUN!!! |
yea im getting alot more rock this week and then going to let it cycle
