Had fun with these, but I wish I had a 200mm f2.8 with a 2x telextender...or a 600mm prime lens haahaa!

Here is a flare stack burning off methane...

http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...reStack011.jpg

It's melting the snow and thawing the ground when it's -30 celcius out.

That's all for now!

Fantastic pics! Do you have to put these together manually or is there a setting on the camera? I've always wanted to try one of these types of photos

Those I slapped together in PS, but I can take a multiple exposure photograph with as many frames as I choose with as much time delay as I'd like, but the problem is the moon keeps moving and I don't have a fancy auto tracker like they use in astronomy.

I really wish I had a good 600mm lens, lunar shots are amazing with that bad boy. And the f/stop doesn't even matter with those kind of shots. Decent lens is about 9-10 grand lol.

Weren't you looking at the 400mm for like 5 grand?? What's a couple more grand, might as well get the 600mm

Great shots by the way, I really like the ones from work!

Scythanith 07-29-2008 08:19 PM

Haahaa, well if you wanna get technical the 400mm f/2.8 is about 8 grand lol!

But it's a f/2.8 and would be much more usefull than a 600mm f/4. All I'd have to do is throw a teleconverter and there is an 800mm f/5.6 woooweee!

I think the 70-200 f/2.8 is much more practical right now, and a teleconverter with it can make a 400mm f/5.6 as well! An that would only be about 2100 bucks.

Little side note, that flare stack was blowing off between 9-12 million cubic meters of gas a day.... insane. Louder than any jet I've heard, the whole lease shook.

I'll see if I can upload some more work shots for ya!

I bet! This was at a job site? Is the fencing in place to keep wildlife out? How come you didn't get any closer?
