Cheers,

I get this one at least once a week...it cracks me up every time

My daughter went to Canadian Tire for some new winter tires. They said, we have three, but the store on Macleod Trail has one, so if you go pick that up, we'll have four to install for you.....

Ouch about the tire thing!

Yesterday, I called my credit card company about a charge, and I spent 45 minutes of my time explaining that yes I had made a charge at that store, but not for that amount. Customer service is frustrating enough, but when you also have to work against the language barrier it just wants to make me cry. I the end I almost want to pay the $60 I was over charged, just so I don't have to deal with the stress of trying to explain the situation to someone over and over and over.

Amen. I've never even taken a sick day in my life. However, I did use snow as an excuse once, to not go to work (could've bussed it), but that was eons ago when I was young lad and wanted to party instead :drinking:. Well, maybe I took a sick day somewhere too, but not in the last 24 years at my current job.

If you're a parent like me, there's no such thing as a no-work day or sick day  But when I was working, I hadn't taken sick days and aside from a weekend off to fly home once or twice, I didn't take time off in two years.

chevyjaxon 02-11-2008 12:51 AM

Sick days? people can actually get those? lol ive been working 10 years now and not 1 day have i taken sick i did however almost lose a finger one time the doctor gave me a week off to let it heal so i took the WCB and the one week off  and i dont get any holidays neither Christmas day is the only holiday i ever seem to get:sad:

Too many people work the "sick day" system. They know by law how many days they get before they have to take short term disability and they use them. We have a few in my office that seem to be sick at least one day a month.. drives me nuts. The only time I ever stay home sick is if I cannot get out of bed. Heck the last time I had a stay in the hospital is was while I was on vacation :p

I've been using my sick days more often in the last 5 years or so. I find that colds and flu's hit me harder as I get older. I also find that co-workers don't want sick people around to spread the germs and we all appreciate it when sick people stay home.

I had another guy show up in a ripped track suit for an interview.. who does that? At least put on clothes that aren't ripped!

I had one person come to an interview, have his cell phone ring, and ask the interview panel if he could answer it. The panel replied that the choice was his, he promptly answered it and carried a conversation with the person on the other end. Bad choice.
