Ben, did you try inquiring with CP railway cargo (i believe it still exists....)? if you are looking at 150-200 lbs range their rates might be more reasonable. If the shipping rate gets lower, I'm in for sure but at this point, I still got lots from last shipment.

OK, I searched and I searched.

DHL, UPS, Fedex, Post-office, Grey-Hound, all around the same.

I tried Reimer express, but they won't do it from me unles I have a business.

I am going skiing in Mar or Feb so if you can wait that long I can take it with me then send it from Fernie BC.

The costs then are .61 per lb

If somebody has a business that can arrange a pick-up from me then maybe we can do something sooner.

To offset I can offer 10% discount (sorry for misleading anybody). If I offer more of a discount then that my net profit is nothing.

Do you have a website for them?

I will try.

www.cpr.ca

Ben
its www.cpr.ca
it looks like they ship rail car's of material and it doesn't look like they ship smaller items but i've sent the following question to their quote department and awaiting a reply:
Quote:

Do you ship smaller packaged item in the 200 lb range? (do you have a minimum size/weight?)
IF you do ship smaller items, can you quote a price for a box that is about 24x24x24" at about 200 lbs? it will contain a few bags of residential ice melting compound.
I'll let you know what their response is when received.

I will await the reply, thanks.

OK I think we can start talking how we get out money together. there is several ways but I would like to find the easiest and cheepest way for us all.

1.most online banking will do online money transfers. this would be my Ideal method. it is simple and does not cost me anything
2. Pay Pal. If you were to paypal me I would be forced to add a 3% charge to the cost to cover my expenses
3. bring me cash. this is the hardest for all as I don't live in the most central location

Please let me know what is best for you and we can do it.
I will give my e-mail address through PMs when you post here that you will e-mail money transfer

No response

Ben et al
no responses from CPR so I'm assuming they don't do freight. Sorry for keeping you waiting.

Has the order been placed? If not I may go in on it but I'm leaving town for a week on Saturday and getting out to Ladner right now will be impossible, (broke a tooth, and got a ton of other stuff to do getting ready).

Doug I will have to insist on pre-payment for this order. So if you can e-mail money to me your in.
