Is there a rule against posting prices on here that I missed?

Thanks,
Dunl

We generally don't like our members posting prices as we have sponsors that pay for that privilige in the vendor announcement forum. By posting prices you are providing free advertising for various LFS that don't support Canreef.

Thanks
Christy :)

Personally i find that rule silly, have you gone to AI and asked if they want to be sponsered on canreef?, how about BA? or any of the Fish shops here in Edmonton? Thats almosty like saying that you cant even metion thier name, because they havent sponsered Canreef.

If not, they how can you have the a silly rule saying that because they dont support Canreef, people cant post prices from their favorite store? when canreef hasnt even given them a chance to become sponsers? or at least offered it to them?

If you have offered it to them, then i am sorry

I do believe they have been contacted in the past. I'm not saying you can't mention the store, just keep the prices to PMs, thanks.

Anyone is welcome to approach Canreef for sponsorship. I offered Big Al's in Calgary the opportunity, the conversation did not last long.

It may be a silly rule, but if our current sponsors get disillusioned with Canreef, then we end up with a revenue shortfall. The board is free to members but unfortunately it is not free to operate. So if the board is to remain alive, that revenue would have to made up elsewhere. We felt that we'd rather have corporate partners, rather than charge membership fees to help offset the operational costs. We felt that keeping the board free was the most important aspect of the board and we want to keep it that way.

So, I'm very sorry for the silly rules, I know sometimes it feels a bit much, but we've imposed them because we're trying to protect the long-term interests of the community. I hope you can see our perspective. I'm sorry if it gets inconvenient at times and we thank you for your understanding.
