We’re a business; we had a promo, that’s it.
I can think of better more humane ways to hold a promo,
maybe having 10yr old kids bobbing for Nemo's would have been better

I'm not bashing the store, just the manager.
Grant here in Vanc put on a great promo last summer, and even though attendance wasn't huge, it sure gave me a positive outlook on his store.

It sure did! (The blind eel.)

The guy works at the same company as me and I just read an inter-office memo from his supervisor.

Edit: I had a large post here explaining my objections to the presentation of this promotion.

I have removed it. If you would like to discuss this matter privately with me, we can, but I think we can agree to disagree.

My views are my own. I have been a loyal customer of Big Al's since the Calgary franchise was opened, I have defended Big Al's in the past. I may continue to defend Big Al's in the future but basically on this promotion of this week, I'm afraid I have a difference of opinion with you on this one.

Guess I should have placed a bet with Brodie, but then, I have never had a hungry eel recovering from a week-long fast in my tank, so would not have as much experience in judging the reaction to having a human in such close proximity to its food source at feeding time. Brodie probably would have reminded me of how long he has been caring for eels, sharks and such and passed me off as an amateur. And then offer to sell me a shark egg.

Very well put Tony.

There is a differance between ethical and unethical companies.

Brodie,
Would you lose any respect for the Calgary zoo if they done a promo of the same type to bring attendance up?

I'm sorry but I think I better close this thread now. The event is over and done with, let's move on.
