ATI Cooling fan
I had a chance to check the temperature exiting my ATI sunpower fixture. I had it running on 12v which is annoying to say the least when it comes to fan noise. After I ran the infrared temp gauge and the read out was only 28 degrees I was a bit surprised. Now I have it adjusted to 9v and the temp is registered at 32 degrees. I know ATI recommends 36 degrees for optimum running temperature to prolong the life of the ballast and bulbs but I think I am comfortable at 32 degree and half the decibel level on the fan. Winner winner chicken dinner.

ATI bulb configuration
Bulb change from 4 x coral plus 4 x blue plus to 2 x coral plus 2 x actinic 4 x blue plus. Such a enhancement on coral appearance, at least in my eyes. I don't think it's gonna affect the growth much either. Like it and gonna stick with it.

Stunning FTS. Absolutely gorgeous.
Glad to hear you were able to ramp down the fans and decrease the noise. It never occurred to me to check the temperature of the air exiting the fixture. I always ran my active cooling at full blast and the noise from the fans was quite irritating. |

Since I turned down the fans, the fixture is a lot more bearable. Glad I can share that with you. |
I'd give this tank more than 10-15mins of ❤️
Just saying. Jealousy brings out the worst in me LOL |

This is what I took this weekend. |

Since I lost almost all my corals its not a current problem but how do you prevent warfare and the associated RTN? Do you trim constantly?

What we really want to know is if you trim on a regular basis... LOL:lol:

Gonna see how this turns out, I don't have any nutrient issues, doing this mainly to see if I can scrub out some CO2 and stabilize the day/night PH levels. |
Very nice rich I like the wire harness to disconnect I need that on my skimmer lid

Rich, is that a 50 50 SMD strip set to red? Are you hoping to grow algae in that reactor?
Thanks |

Algae reactor report.
Working awesome thus far. 3 weeks worth of growth gave me triple of what I originally started off with. I took out 2/3 of the mass and wrapped the chaeto around the pipe and its getting packed again. I must say I am impressed. LED light went bunkers and starts a rave show in the sump so I bought the reefcrest strip from JL, really liking it. I would recommend the reactor to anyone. JL has the whole setup on sale for $169, pretty good deal consider it comes with pumps hose and I think even a little bit of algae but don't quote me on it. Here is what my reactor look like. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4163/3...1271290b_c.jpg Got a kalkreactor also to combat the low PH I am experiencing. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4168/3...bf4d6e2d_c.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4163/3...7d845fa7_c.jpg |
