I like the coloring and the eye placement and look....it`s like a sixline that got dressed up to go out :)

The coloring on some of the fairly and flasher wrasses looks to Hodge podge for me....to much going on. The Mystery wrasse just appeals to me aesthetically that's all. But remember I like the scoprionfish and frgofish though so :)

Hey Doug you said that the Lineatus wrasse came in a little bigger then you wanted, around what size are you thinking it was? Ya I'm thinking the Red Coris wrasse would kill it, as I tried a Carpenters Wrasse a bit ago and it lasted 3 days. From my signature you can see the rest of my current fish, I don't think any of the others would be the culprits, but I could be wrong. Pm me the going rate for one, as I'm gonna try to get the Red Coris out to put one in.

I think they both have their pluses. Mystery wrasse has the slightly more subtle beauty, funky eyes and cool behavior (the hunting part anyway). The fairies have that in your face beauty and are much more well mannered.

I didnt know what size it was...I didnt really care to be honest. Kevin said "so and so" has some, I said I want one. The one I got is probably four inches or so. If I had the luxury of choosing, I would have picked one 2"-2 1/2" to enjoy watching it mature. Also Ive noticed that my regal tang doesnt care to much for the lineatus. All of the small fish I have added since the regal was in the tank have gone un-noticed, so I think if the lineatus was a touch smaller he would have blended into the crowd a little better.

Some more coral pics (Hey lobsterbi check out that little frag you gave me in my last set of pics)

Not a bad bonus shot of the acro crab living in this colony.

I think I convicted and sentenced my bi-color angel on a case of mistaken identity. My acans are still being eaten. Last week I lost my new alien eye favia frag and my "lord" acan frag. I have three suspects....flame angel, regal tang( who I have seen picking at another favia colony I have) or my pepermint shrimp. The flame and regal are staying...Im not getting rid of either of them, so my coral stocking plans will have to change. I have a line on a rainbow acan frag(my Holy Grail coral) that I will seriously have to think about passing on:sad:

I am also going through a serious macro algae, kelp type seaweed bloom. Its everywhere in the tank. I finally got a few hours off yesterday afternoon and used the time to remove the 2x24w HOT5 retrofit kit I had in my old frag tank canopy and installed it over the fuge area of my sump. Sooooo....I now have a functioning refugium:lol: Only a year after I started the tank:redface: The only bulbs I had were a fiji purp and a reef blue, so I will have to bring home a couple new bulbs and a handfull of cheato from the shop. Hopefully a good ball of cheato will make a dent in the algea that I have in the display. I also am going to step up my efforts to remove a couple more fish, in hopes of reducing the bio-load in the tank. My coral feeding has also been reduced.

Sorry to hear about the algae problem! Believe me when I say "I feel your pain" as I'm going through an algae war myself...first the red turf followed by a bad case of cyano. (thankfully I believe the tide is turning in my favor) I'm sure your in much better shape than me judging by your photos. Your tank still looks great to me!

Sounds like some middle of the night tank watching is in order to find your culprit. I think fish are like dogs and only misbehave when no one is watching, I'd swear mine all look as if saying "it wasn't me!" when I discover an entire colony has disapeared overnight:biggrin:

You sure your flame doesn't want a new home? I think my potter's would like a buddy:wink:

I have nobody to blame but myself for the algae problem....my efforts to keep everything well fed coupled with a high fish load = excess nutrients. If I cant remove the two fish I am hoping to remove, I may have to think about A BK skimmer or something similar. Hopefully a big ball o cheato will at the least keep the algae from spreading further.
I am really leaning towards my peppermint shrimp(s), as the culprits. Kevin and I watch the peps at the store attack a recently fragged acan.
