Just wanted to thank you for letting me look at your tank. It's even more spectacular in person than it is in your pics. If I can get a tank to look half as nice as yours, I'd consider it a resounding success.

I'm going to scream "resounding success" over and over again at my cyano tonight and see if it doesn't decide to leave . Thanks for the compliment Adam, hows the house going for you buddy?

Have you leveled out those expensive LED's yet Levi

asylumdown 03-08-2012 02:39 AM

you willing to try something like red slime remover? The more I read about cyano, the more I am starting to think of it as an infection, and less like a normal algae. I used to get cyano outbreaks in the planted FW tank I had at my old office all the time, even though all the parameters were spot on. Then I'd treat it with an anti-biotic and the tank would be utterly pristine until I would add a new fish, and within days, boom. Cyano. It seems to come and go in everyone's tank regardless of their water parameters, eve the most pristine, ULNS tanks can get it. I was too afraid to try something chemical in my last tank, but people seem to report reasonable success with certain products in reef tanks so I don't know if I'll be so conservative the next time around.

As for the house... so close man. sooooo close. The place looks fantastic, better than I could even have imagined. Kevin and I are going to plumb the tank on Saturday, and hopefully fill it up and turn the pump on for a leak test/clean of all the dust and crap that's settled in it.

I believe that I have found my new favorite tank!:faint:
I will be fallowing and commenting for sure~!

Thank you very much for sharing!!

Do you currently have favorite tank? I wouldn't mind seeing what someone with a tank like yours looks up to or looks to for inspiration?

Errr...uhhhh....eeeeee...no .
I dream of a day where my expensive LED light fixtures look like they weren't hung by intoxicated monkeys . My "Frag tank" inside of my fuge turned out to be a piece of egg crate covered in algae so we took it out. Plans are in the works for a real frag tank so hopefully I can do a swap/ cash deal with you shortly.

I'm down for using the treatment but a certain someone else is strongly against it.

*Smashed face into wall repetitively*
Ironically his SPS aren't affected, just my zoas getting smothered by the stuff .

Anyone else out there have good results with a red slime algae remover?

Good to hear the house is almost ready for you guys, I will have to stop by to take a look when your system is up and running.

Favvvvvvorrritteeeeee!!! My dreams of a Zoaelite fan club are slowly coming to fruition! Haha thanks for the comment, one of my major inspirations is Geoxmans old tank which can be found here.

Just kidding about the fan club btw.

Unless you actually want to join, please PM me for tryout dates.

Whats the name of this coral again? Its a little hard to tell from the constant lightning bolt striking directly above your tank but I'm sure I have some.

Thank you. Cade.

You're getting quite the mini colony of Darth Mauls going! The tank is looking great too now that it is aging...lots of color!

Thank you. Cade.

It's a pocillopora sp., we have had a few events where little ones have been popping up all over the place. One of the few corals that spawns in captivity.

Errr...uhhhh....eeeeee...they melted .

We pushed our water change a little to late due to my midterm schedual and a few of the zoas weren't to happy with me. That or it was the Kent carbon, none of the SPS were affected though so I'm kind of leaning towards it being my fault.

Anyone got Darth Mauls ?
