Marie, could the wrasse be a Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura?

lastlight 01-14-2013 03:00 PM

Looks awesome so far. Talk about tons of room for SPS growth. Clean looking setup with just the vortechs on the end panes.

Leah 01-14-2013 03:11 PM

Beautiful!! Can't wait to see it fill in. I love your idea of smaller fish. I tried it.. and then caved.

That's what I've been going with but it looks more like a Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus without the gold bar on the side......

My original plan was all small fish except the copperband but when the brown wafer algae started growing I decided 1 naso tang would be alright. Then I took down my 120g so now I have 3 tangs in there and I am apparently in the process of caving myself

christyf5 01-14-2013 03:27 PM

Wow Marie, that looks great and so different from your last tank :) Loving it

Leah 01-14-2013 03:33 PM

It is hard to stick to! But OMG you have a huge beautiful tank, so why not add a few larger ones.
I conquer... One more fish should be okay or a few!

What made you take down the other tank?

After catering to an sps tank, fretting over majanos and algae in a zoa tank and attempting to make money by propagating rics, I wanted a tank that I enjoyed no matter what route it took. A complete reef, with algae, crabs shrimp, lots of fish and the corals playing a background roll. So far I'm enjoying it all.....although the cyano could leave anytime now

It got boring  all I was doing was maintenance so I am going to turn it into a paladarium complete with fish and frogs

Leah 01-14-2013 04:50 PM

Sounds Fantastic! I have a soft spot for Frogs, something from my child hood. I was always like Mommy those frogs are piggy-backing.

Can't wait to see it.

Seriak 01-14-2013 07:17 PM

Looks great! Make sure you do a build for your paladarium.

marie 01-29-2013 02:20 AM

I added about 50lbs of more live rock

See you in a couple of weeks. Felicia and I can't wait to check out your tank(s) in person.

The yellow tang is my oldest fish, I've had him for over 8 yrs now

christyf5 06-06-2013 05:32 PM

The tank is looking great Marie! I'm really liking what you've done with it

1986CJ7 08-09-2013 03:51 PM

Absolutely gorgeous.

Rice Reef 08-10-2013 05:14 PM

That is one awesome tank! I wish I can have a big tank like yours. How many chromis do you have and how long have you had them? I use to have 7 in mine but now down to 2 as they seemed to have killed each other off over time.

typezero 08-10-2013 05:40 PM

Thats some serious progress for a tank only 1yr old! Love the big tangs and wrasses.
