In the last pic, they are called aiptasia. Not sure about the rest. Although one looked like a clam and one looked like it could be a shrimp.

riceboy 10-28-2011 03:22 AM

Victor it's time for an update. We all want to see your sexy tank again.

riceboy 11-22-2012 05:39 AM

Lol thanks Donny. I guess it's been a while since I've updated this thread lol. Well a lot has changed with work and alk spikes needless to say my tank crashed early this year. So I haven't really done anything to it except restarted it about 2 months ago. I had taken all the rocks out and nuked them since the rocks were covered in aiptasia. So the tank is pretty much cycling again. I also redid my rock work to allow more swimming room for the fish.

Haven't really taken any recent pics of it yet so ill post a recent pic tmr. Here is a pic from when I first restarted. It has a lot more corals right now lol.

ChizerBunoi 11-22-2012 12:19 PM

Thanks Bud and sorry about the crash. Those sps will color up and make aquascape look swwet.

That claim on the left sure is sexy. The one on the right is just as beautiful.

Do you have a nano stream in one of your old vortech holes now? Why did you decide to make powerheads visible in there?

ChizerBunoi 12-20-2012 02:03 AM

Post some parameters, maybe we can help you get through this mini crash.

Lol I was just fiddling around with the flow seeing if one vortec on the side would help with more random flow and since there is a hole and I didn't want fish to go into I shoved the nano stream in it lol. But it Didnt really make a difference so I put the vortec back in the wave box, and took the tunze out.

Ya started to siphone the sand and stupid me knowing that the sand has been untouched for almost 2 years it spiked my phosphates up to .39 or even higher Didnt check till I saw my sps rtning and stning. Needless to say I've been changing gfo like crazy and did multiple water changes. I will take a reading tmr (if i get of work earlier than 12) as I just got of work. Man I can use a break (start at 7:30am didnt leave the office till 12am)its been 14 plus hours of work per day for the past 4 weeks, only 2 more days and the office is closed and ill finally get a chance to do maintainence on the tank and catch up in sleep.

riceboy 01-21-2014 02:54 AM

Well it's been a while since I updated the thread. Still at it and still have this tank up and running. Been struggling for the past couple of years with the tank crashing numerous times, but I think I got it now lol.

Well it's been a while since any update. Everything is on auto pilot finally lol. Water changes every month takes around 5 minutes to do a 40 gallon water change, ato, doser for all elements and zeo products, biopellets refill once in a while etc... All I do is refill the dosing reservoir every 2 weeks and feed mysis daily and dose coral vitalizer daily, and coral snow 2 times a week.

Anyways here are some pics.
