I found out it's most likely an acan even though it looks more like a chalice and from what I understand this one is very expensive in the USA. |
Not a happy reefer here.......I'm loosing yet another sps  I have no idea why all of a sudden I'm loosing things. I've lost a few frags(including one that cost me $50 ) and now a 2nd colony is affected. I'm almost considering selling what's left so that maybe they don't perish in my tank.
|
Have you been losing mostly SPS? Or have other corals also taken a downturn?
|
You may be able to save the affected sps by crazy gluing the edge between the living and dead tissue....its worked for me a couple times.

You could also try heavily fragging the affected pieces. I tried the glue trick during an RTN/STN event and it didn't work, then I started fragging like mad and managed to save some. Best of luck.

I added a Black Spiny Rock Urchin today to try and help with the algae problem. Thanks again Blue World Aquatics  http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0055.jpg
|
I also picked up some nice pieces of dry rock today which will be for a new cube I got for a smoking deal, thanks intarsiabox
http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...x/DSC_0056.jpg The new cube is 24" x 24" x 20" and isn't drilled so I was thinking I might try turning it into an AIO. If anyone has any suggestions on how to set up the AIO compartments please feel free to advise :) |
lookin good. hows that frogfish doin for ya?

So the death has seemed to finally stop but not until it took some nice (and not cheap) frags. I added another urchin because the spiny rock urchin isn't doing much of anything. The new one is a blue tuxedo and I can see some areas he's munched on so hopefully he does a better job.
I have some new zoa's & paly's coming. Can't wait to see them and I  they all arrive okay. Purple Heart Zoa Devil's Armor Paly Emerald's On Fire Zoa Silver Rose Zoa Magian Paly :woot: |
I've found that Tuxedo's and Black Long Spine urchins to a good job chomping down the algae.. can't wait to see the new tank!

I'm so upset. I just went to feed the fishy's and wouldn't you know it, the other clown committed suicide :rip:  He was there before I left this morning so it happened while I was out shopping. No more clowns until the new tank is finished!

Aw.....Im sorry Dawn:sad:

BTW I love the look of the tank and all the nice zoos. Also your frog fish is super cool, makes me want to set up a tank for one. |
Thanks Doug, Thanks Laurie. I haven't told my husband yet that the 2nd is a goner.......they were his fish.
I have a ton of zoa's. I just did a count and if I didn't miss anything I have 49 different zoa's/paly's(with more coming). No, I'm not addicted to them at all  They're all in my sump though because I want to do some rearranging since loosing so many sps. As soon as I do that I'll get a new fts. |
Received some more awesome new zoa's today........yes more  What can I say, I'm addicted:grab:. The ones received today are all deep water. I also have 2 new cyphastrea frags. Thanks Burc & Blue World Aquatics. Pics soon.
|
I just had to share a pic of my beautiful new ORA Picasso Clownfish from Blue World Aquatics. They're so beautiful .............and yes, my tank is covered now.

I picked up the ORA false percs today as well! I picked out 2 of the Picasso's but I think they were a little to small to hang with my frogfish and just to risky! |

http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/DSC_0100.jpg This is how they looked back in June. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/t...ddsJune109.jpg On another note I've started cycling the dry rock for my new cube, now if I could just manage to finish constructing it, lol. |
