So are we still on for shiping this week?

J

Ron99 03-17-2009 06:25 PM

We're out of town from tonight until Thursday night. It's March break so some folks might be on vacation. I would think early next week might work better for people.

Reefer Rob 03-17-2009 06:57 PM

Anyone not in town should let Jason know. The original deal was that they would ship this week. It would be nice to have some advance notice if this has changed, I need to set up my quarantine tank.

Pretty sure this was directed towards Wicked Frags.

Jason McK 03-17-2009 07:45 PM

From Day 1 of this Group buy, the scheduled ship date was the week of March 16th.
If delays are unavoidable due to the size of the order that is completely understandable, But if you placed an order knowing you would not be able to pick up (and didn't make arrangements with me) I will not be responsible for any losses that occur in my tank. Of course I will do diligence to keep things alive and will report to WickedFrags any losses in shipping.

Ron99 03-17-2009 08:21 PM

I wasn't intending to throw a wrench in the works :-) Just pointing out that it may turn out some people are out of town this week. I'm not sure if Jason wanted to hold frags for people for very long. It also sounded to me like Dave was still fragging some of the corals for this order so rather than rush freshly made frags out the door and possibly leave Jason holding frags for people I thought it might make sense to hold the shipping until Monday or so.

Jason McK 03-17-2009 08:26 PM

Let's see what Dave has to say

J

Drock169 03-18-2009 07:49 AM

Any word on whats going on with the shipment?

wickedfrags 03-18-2009 12:54 PM

Everything LPS/zoa wise was made up on the weekend at the latest and is healing up. While I could ship this week, next week would be preferred as the extra time is always preferred with the zoas and LPS.

Frags that do not survive are not good for anyone.

How about a confirmed shipping date of Tuesday March 24 to arrive Wednesday March 25?

Mega 03-18-2009 07:04 PM

I totally agreed with Dave. No one wants a DOA or unhealthy frag. A week or so is not too far away. I am sure everyone don't mind waiting a bit longer to get healthier frags.

GreenSpottedPuffer 03-21-2009 10:14 PM

So pick up is now March 25?

Just want to confirm since I have an meeting that day out of town and would like to make sure I change it to Thursday if this is the case.

Jason McK 03-21-2009 10:52 PM

Yup that's what is says Wednesday March 25th

J

Ok I just wanted to make sure since that post was asked as a question. Didn't know if that had been confirmed yet.

wickedfrags 03-22-2009 03:02 PM

Everything is ready to ship Tuesday, arriving Wednesday. Dave

wickedfrags 03-24-2009 09:43 PM

Shipment is on the road. Jason, sent you the tracking number.

Package is a wopping 44lbs! Will be there by 10:30am your time.

Jason McK 03-24-2009 09:51 PM

OK everyone. The package is coming to my Office in Richmond.
I can hold it there until about 13:00 depending on demand.

I will need to know who is coming to the office so please e-mail me @ candjszoo@gmail.com if you are going to come to the office and I can send you the information.
If you plan on coming to my Please e-mail as well and I will forward the information.

Thanks All

Jason

Corals Have arrived. Water temp feels good. Of course I'm swamped at work but will inspect the order soon

J

fkshiu 03-25-2009 05:22 PM

Woo hoo!

wickedfrags 03-25-2009 05:30 PM

Great to hear! Was tracking this myself just in case there was some shipping confusion, not an easy order to replace!

You can say that again!

I'm hunting for the leaking bag now as the outside of the box is quite wet. But over all temp is great. The heat packs are still pumping out the heat.

I don't want to deserb the packaging too much as I'm afraid of the heat loss.

So far everything looks great. Even saw a copepod running around in one of the bags

J

Jason McK 03-25-2009 05:52 PM

OK just went through it all everything is fine. ZERO leaks. some Playas are even open.

Come and get them

FBNitro 03-25-2009 06:41 PM

I grabbed mine already and it's an awesome piece, thanks to Jason for setting this up and to Wicked Frags for letting us do it.

wickedfrags 03-25-2009 06:51 PM

Good to hear. Wrapped in two 4mil bags water can only be squeezed out the top...no punctures.

Don't recall which piece you picked-up, but there are some real nice pieces in this order. Rather proud actually! The cyphastrea decadia was MASSIVE (did not want to frag my colony again so I sent a sub-colony). Maybe 2-3 pieces in the entire shipment I was not 100% satisifed with, but they were still looking good.

I got the cyphastrea decadia sub-colony. :) It's gorgeous. I'm having to move around some Zoa frags to make room for it, which is a great thing.

Chowder 03-25-2009 07:35 PM

Got my frags, Jason thanks for putting the group buy together and thanks Dave for the great Aussie pieces.

Chris

wickedfrags 03-25-2009 08:29 PM

Yes - not representative of a typical frag of that species, good timing on your part and pleased ot hear you are happy with it.

Agreed - thanks Jason. And FYI, the aussie tri-colour will take high light and the lemon drop moderate to high light...moderate light will get you blue tips, at least that is what is happening with my collony. Cheers.

Dave thanks for the info on the placement of those pieces.

Chris

Mega 03-25-2009 09:25 PM

Thanks Dave!

Just wanted to thank Jason for putting this order together... and thanks to Dave for the awesome frags! How high should I place the suharsonoi and the orengi under the Phoenix 14K DE 150W?

Man the Aussie Tri sound like it would have been nice

Anytime, be sure to post some pics once they get encrusted and start growing out.

Agreed, thanks Jason. I had the orengi mid tank under 400W Radiums, I would expect md-tank should be fine in your tank. This piece will colour up even nicer, the frag I sent you was partially shaded for a while. The suharsonoi is known to be a deepwater species. I had this in the frag tank for quite some time, I keep my colony in the lower 3rd of my display tank. I would say lower half for you. Dave

Agreed - I should have sent you one! It is a unique tri-colour for sure. Not the most shocking tri-colour, but a different one for sure. And no worries, I have a 8-10" colony of this, I can essentially get you a frag whenever you are ready.

No worries Dave! These mistakes happen and no is to blame. I will eventually have order a bunch of stuff from you Im sure.

My feedback would be...my order got forgotten but Dave has dealt with it for me and I am very happy...well not happy that I don't have a tri color but happy that he made it right :D

Thanks!

I'm going to go dumpster diving tomorrow to see if I accidentally chucked it with the Box. I've already gone back to the office to check around the desks and everywhere. with no luck

Ron99 03-25-2009 11:43 PM

Thanks Ron. FYI keep that meteor shower low for a dark torqoise base, up higher for a lighter green. Looks best low IMO. Dave

Great shipping Dave and very nice frag.

Thanks Jason for your efforts with this order.

Cheers

Ron99 03-26-2009 05:13 AM

Thanks Dave. I have it at the bottom of my 8 gallon Biocube so with only 36 watts of PC lighting hopefully it will show the darker colouration.

wickedfrags 03-26-2009 11:28 AM

Thanks. Over $200 for shipping and packaging materials for this order! So pleased to hear everything shipped well. Soprry the bags are tough to open - they are just easier to tie that way.........I do not work well with elastic bands, and my way is more secure.

This coral has been in my tank for over 3 years and has always say 3" off the bottom and I use 400W halides. End of the day - this is a great coral and the polpys have great contrast. With your lighting, you can easiy keep it higher if you like also. Thanks.
