Nice build thread Mike. Tank looks amazing:)
Did you notice a drastic growth and color difference since switching from the t5's to halides?

Skimmerking 12-08-2008 12:42 PM

looking at the colors specturms the t-5 gave some nice color, but the shimmering effect and the growth patterns are great with MH... from what i could see..

Very nice, In your video slideshow you have a little bubble coral, looks to be twice the size mine was when I got it way back when, forgot how cool they are when that small. Keep up the good work.

marie 12-16-2008 01:08 AM

I can't wait for you to rate the bubbleking. If anyone has used enough skimmers to compare, it's you

Skimmerking 12-16-2008 01:16 AM

Thanks Marie, well listening to the skimmer its very quiet like you have stated to me earlier. once its broken in I will give my feed back on it so far its going to get great results from me.

I soaked mine in vinegar before using and the skimmer started skimming within minutes after being placed in the sump. It still took a couple of weeks before it hit it's stride though and has been skimming consistently ever since with no help from me other then cleaning the collection cup twice a week

This is the skimmer 2 hours after I placed it in the sump

Wow! thats a small guy

superduperwesman 12-17-2008 10:03 PM

Is that huge trim around the tank pretty expensive??

Skimmerking 12-17-2008 10:08 PM

no worries Jason there isnt any hijacking goign on here. Im glas that you put you skimmer on there to allow my skimmer to stop thinking that he is a 650 external.

way to trim him down,,,

Jason McK 12-17-2008 11:47 PM

LOL Well it'll do the job like no other so that's what counts. I'm sure you will agree that the BK isn't all hype. They are KING

edit 4 times later after I had to read the post now i get it.. time for a Coffee and Bailey's

OK Superduper i see now what your asking my bad. The trim was I think $1.79 on sale at home depot... something like that yes is huge I went with other trims before on other inwalls but the nice wide trim Imo /IME are the way to go..to accent the tank better.

Ahah sorry, I guess it was kinda random. I just really like the big thick trim but $1.79ish sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'm assuming that's per foot? I'll have to check out home depot. I didn't know they carried stuff that big. Thanks!

IMO it also looks really good. Very nice tank!

Skimmerking 12-24-2008 02:41 PM
