You da Skimmer man, so you'll know better than me what you need  I was kinda hoping you'd try out the Vertex Alphas as I wanna get one one day - the 170 or 200 looks good to me for my setup One day ... |

That is the sexiest thing i've ever seen. It's a shame it costs as much as a good used car. lol. |
Ok fms i was talking to my local glass company about getting glass. Diamond edge I have dealt with him on small pieces of glass a d he always coming through for me. So instead of going to Winnipeg where I get my glass im goi g to try him and see what price he can get me. The good thing is he will bri g it over and build it for me in my basement. Excellent guy too so we got to chatting and then he told me about a 10 footer he did. :BIG::BIG:yup that is what my Brain did. I was all smiles. So he is going to price me out a 10x2x2. Or 120x24x24 omg hmmmm i could have semserious problems then.
1. How many MITRAS would i need to light this i have one now. 2. I thought a out 1/2" with some bracing obvious 3. Thought about 20" high too. 4 return pump i was thinking of a d.c 10,000 5. For circulation it would be PVC wrapping around the top with sections every 24" and powered by a good flow pump like a waveline pump i think |
With mitras your max footprint per light is pretty much 36x32 so given that you might want to consider going a little wider and little shorter so 108x30x24 works quite nicely for only 3 fixtures otherwise you're probably looking at 4 fixtures.

1/2" is way too light IMO for 10' tank as well, doesn't matter how you brace it.

my 8 footer was 1/2" all around |
Give Stu or Steve a call at Prairie Aquatics and Exotics in Regina. They have a display tank the same dimensions you're looking at, 120x24x24.

No but they could advise on glass thickness etc. if you're undecided on that. It was built a few months back by someone in Calgary I believe.
