I have been researching as well on this issue Jeff. The snappers are fairly quite in a sound proofed cabinet but I think a submersible Laguna with a sound dampening pad under it ( in a zip lock ) would be the best way to go. Laguna pumps are very reasonably priced as well, I might just try a 4200 or a combo of 2 - 3000 GPH pumps on my 300 gal.

ok culdnt resist i had to out thi out there
this is the general idea not exact scale ,or positioning for the return lines/ tankflow.. the general idea is to pump the clean water low in tank pushing up bad water to the overflow... necessary...prolly not. but hey if it works well, why not. hopeully it will add to some of the current fireing towards the front glass through rock work. it will have a syphon break top middle. http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...eturnlines.jpg |
