Looking fantastic. Great pics. I cant for the life of me figure out how to take nice true looking pics like yours. I looked back at several pages of your many many posts to see if you have a thread about the pictured tank but couldnt find one. Do you have one so the rest of us can see whats under the "hood"? I would love to have results like this one day in my sps tank. Great job!
Thanks Dave |
Dave, I don't have a tank thread, just never have the time. It's a pretty simple setup, 180g, 75g sump, ATO, large DIY Ca reactor with Mg media added, carbon changed monthly, use a Zeo reactor and supplements, 3 x 400w Raium MH with supplemental actinic. 50g water change every other week. ER CS8-3 skimmer cleaned often. 1/2hp chiller plumbed remotely to keep things cool, feed at least once a day, usually twice. 2 inch sugarsand on the bottom, probably would rethink that decision :)
Apex controller to keep it all going (not a requirement, just easier). That's it. Pretty easy. Look up Dez's TOTM thread, he goes into great detail on his stuff, with a simple lazy approach, and it works really well. Pretty much my philosophy, without the huge water changes -lol Edit: forgot flow. 2x Tunze 6100 streams. Run different profiles from Apex depending on light cycle. Might add a wavebox if I can figure out how to fix it :) |
Thanks. Easy sounding. You and Dez clearly have a knack for things sps.
Either way... Very, very nice! |
Nice stuff Brad. I especially like the red Digi, color looks insane.

Brad, this is really a GORGEOUS "little ocean" with dominant sps corals you have created in there.
