Interesting view; however, without sponsors Canreef would cease to exist. Many customers can't wait for new posts to arrive for livestock, sales, etc....

I personally like being able to interact with Vendors on here. The concept works well. I like this better than having ads randomly insertted between posts in all the threads like some other forums do. (Sorry if this is a little off topic...)

With regard to the coral names, if they're not trademarked, then I don't care. They're nice looking legal corals. The whole issue looks like sour grapes to me.

I was looking forward to purchasing quite a few in the future:cry:

I like seeing offers from vendors. If the vendors go away, I usually just forget about them. I try to buy from vendors that support this BB.

I hope that they reconsider leaving.

Mitch

This is the reason why they're leaving Canreef. He makes a nice post saying thank you for the time here, stated his reasons why he was leaving and that was it. People have been leaving kind messages for him. You on the other hand, while your opinion is still valid, decided that it was necessary to drag this down into another goddamned opinionated ****ing ****ing match. Way to go. Grow the **** up.

Paul, it was good to have you around. I always looked forward to your posts. It was always like Christmas morning when a livestock post popped up. I would enjoy it if you could create a regular mailer to go out to the people who do appreciate your hard work and great products!

Just so everyone knows, please remember that I am no longer affiliated with Oceanic Corals on a business or Vendor standpoint but still retain my original member name....

Just don't want to confuse anyone with my comments or opinions as they are purely from my standpoint only and not necessarily the opinion of Paul....

Sorry to hear you guys go, but as with all business, advertisement is "out of sight, out of mind", so hopefully you make the right decision to target your specific customer segment.

Tyler, the real overwhelming posting pattern is the buy/sell forums, which take up more than 50% of new posts anytime I look at the board, but certainly not something to do away with..

OC was a welcome contributor to the board, providing great products previously not available.
Personally, I'm going to harrass Paul until he changes his mind :)

What?? I personally love seeing the new pics of livestock and would suggest that this site is a great medium for reaching your target customers. I hope you reconsider leaving Canreef , I would be concerned that it may not be in your best business interest and as a valley reefer I have a vested interest in seeing OC thrive.I think the negative posting from your competition should have been kept in check. Whether you stay or go Paul a newsletter mailed out to all your existing customers with livestock notification sure reminds me your around(hint).

As a competitor, I am still sorry to see them leave.

The people and staff of any forum make the site.

The site gets larger due to the administrator and staffs diligence, and the visitors input. Unless the site solicits donations, they need sponsors.

Server space and bandwidth needs to be paid for, site owners need to make something from the site for all the time they put into it behind the scenes.

I can honestly say OC, is/was one of the few vendors that actually cared enough to answer questions, not only advertising when they had something to sell.

Sorry to see you guys go,

Ken - BWA
