i don't mine spending extra money on something different and that no one else would really have. but i think the most i would spent on a fish would be 100-150 and for coral 125-175..

No limit if I like it enough.

But I have to agree with one of the previous posts, the more the fish costs, the more likely it is to die in my tank it seems!

I know spending an unlimited amount on something only drives the hobby to a place where some may not want to go, but if I like it enough, I'll buy it.

You spent $250 on a Queen angel  How big was it when you bought it? I spent $50 on my Queen angel and she's about six inches, still juvi colours, but still $250 :surprise: I guess I got one heck of a deal!

I haven't spent more then $60 for a fish, my 6" regal tang and my emperor angel. The most I've spent on a coral was $50 for my pink hammer coral.

If it was a fish that is fairly rare and I really wanted it, I guess I might go up to $200.

Duncan Opsammia $120.

Tough one. I would spend more on a coral, but less on a fish. Fish just seem like too much of a risk, while I have always found corals to bounce back if they don't fair too well with all the change/stress.

I'd spend no more than $100 on a coral, and no more than $70-80 on a fish. I also own a small system, so the fish I choose usually don't go past $50-60.
