I saw that driving back to Edmonton actually, it has a boat with a model of a fisherman out front on the corner?

What are the costs if you bring your own gear, do you know?

demon666 06-26-2006 07:49 PM

yup that is the place..... its still $1 an inch if you bring your own gear.... all you pay for is the fish..... oh and it is only open thursday - sunday

Good info, thanks.

I went out to Spring Lake nearbye to there, it is stocked. Got some nibbles, but never set the hook good enough to bring one in.

demon666 06-26-2006 08:11 PM

ya this place is great........ lots of nibbels but like i said i only got one..... should of had more but oh well.... at this place you are pretty much guarenteed to go home with something..... the guy just opened up so he is more or less over stocked right now....... when i went in on saturday to talk to them they figured they had roughly 17000 fish in the pond so you should be able to get something out of that pond.... oh there are carpe in the pond too but it will cost ya $100 if you want to keep it if you get on on the line..... oh ya and it isnt catch and release... so if you land it you must keep it no matter on how big it is.... the size is 10" the smallest in the pond and the only size that i cought...... upto 20" so good size fish........

TheReefGeek 06-26-2006 08:18 PM

Too bad they don't charge a fee per hour for catch and release.

demon666 06-26-2006 08:25 PM

he doesnt want dead fish floating in his pond from catch and release...... catchand release isnt always best if not done right of if the hook is enbedded in the gills or something the fish isnt going to make it anyway so it made as well be eaten by somebody....... see i dont like fish but i like fishing..... so the inlaws or my mom get the fish.... i dont keep them myself....

TheReefGeek 06-26-2006 08:42 PM

$1.00 per inch is pretty pricey though, expensive way to learn to fish.

Maybe good for the absolute newbie without any gear to give it a try once or twice though.

I have fished a couple times now, so this would be a bit too expensive for me, but thanks for the info!

demon666 06-26-2006 08:44 PM

well its only expensive if you catch fish if ya dont then its verry cheap....

TheReefGeek 06-26-2006 08:45 PM

lol, true enough! I would be afraid of catching the "big one" though!

demon666 06-26-2006 08:47 PM

its good for ppl like me who dont fish verry often so it isnt really practical to get a licence and i dont have a boat and there arent many places to fish off of docks out here so it works for me pluse it is so close to my house its great
