I went to Maui and I saw them at Black Rock. Anyone know if it is possible for Canadains to get collecting permits? I saw two Golden Dwarfs morays in about ten feet of water and would have killed for a permit.

I think that is a frigate I don’t know what nation it is from I would guess the US though  if you have a hull number you can look it up on the US navy web site.

Brad

Looks like a Ticonderoga class to me

The captain and the rest of us ruled out missle ship. We thought it was a Frigate or PT Boat. Its number was 70.

Did you snag any pics of local hot babes? Haha.

Whooohoo I win, if the number was 70 here she is

"USS Lake Erie (CG-70) was built by Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. The USS Lake Erie's Keel was laid on 6 March 1990 and she was launched on 13 July 1991. Upon completion of her sea-trials after construction, Lake Erie transferred to the Pacific Fleet and was commisioned on 24 July 1993 as the twenty-fourth TICONDEROGA Class Guided Missile Cruiser in her homeport of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. USS Lake Erie was the first US Navy warship to be commissioned in Hawaii. "

Not to say there isn't any but they are not as common of a tang in Hawaii as people thing because they see them included on Hawaiian shipments.

Steve

I went to Oahu in June and saw yellows everywhere. They were swarming around the docks and marinas so I actually saw them more from land than when I was snorkelling.

BTW, great pics Matt. I know from experience how difficult it is to get a good shot with all the goggles and adrenaline getting in the way.
