If you have a few people over you will notice a drop in PH just by people breathing the same air as your tank or makeup water is exposed to. Try opening a window to get some fresh air in the room your doing your tests in. Just a thought.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have heard of this before but was not aware that it could made that difference on the PH very interesting I should do some more testing with the open window

Yes, people in the same room can affect pH by up to 0.3 points. I have done all my testing though with all windows and doors open.
