Actually it's neither an SPS nor an LPS.It is an MPS. Medium Polyp Stony Coral.

So my point was that LPS and SPS are artificial terms. Goniopora, phylogenically, would be an SPS, being part of family Poritidae. The terms are near useless even when trying to figure out general husbandry guidelines given the variance of natural habitats you can find either "type" of coral in.

Edit: stupid phone...

Regarding cyphastrea, different strains and species will do best in (get ready for magnum opus here) different conditions (gasp)*****

How aggressive is cyphastra when it competes with acro's for rel estate? Will it grow over some acro's like some encrusting monti's will?

Yes, in most cases...but like Albert points out...depends on the strain of both the cyphastrea and the acro. Some win some lose
