:jaw::shocked::eek: ... That BLOWS... on the bright side (if there can be one) at least you got 3 months.. |
That really blow Doug, typical landlord to put some one out while building a house that I bet will be huge.
On another note Doug, can you tell me what you are using for bulbs again on your tank. This time I promise I will write it down. |
Hey Doug, sorry to hear that you have to move out. If you need help let us know and we will help you move.
On another note, thanks for installing our hardwood flooring....it looks amazing........We are not completely back to normal but getting closer. Picture of the new floor. http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/u...e/IMG_1000.jpg |

Thanks guys.......I might just take some of you up on that offer for help.......me moving is not that big of a deal.....its totally the tank that I am worried about........I've moved the tank successfully twice before but never with this much "life" in it before(now close to 20 fish and a titch stocked with coral).......Ive been totally wracking my brain trying to figure out what to do...........everything from selling the tank to fragging it heavily ( to lighten the bioload) to selling all the live stock has crossed my mind.......I have no idea what Im gonna do........I haven't really even started to look for a place yet as there seems to be quite a bit of rentals available here now........
here's a few recent pics..... heres a couple frags that have been sitting on my frag rack waiting for a place to put them..... A Loripes (if I remember correctly.....right John?) http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4141.jpg an Aussie pink and blue tabling acro http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4142.jpg Pocillopora http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4143.jpg A. tortusa "cali tort" http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4144.jpg Aussie deepwater unidentified acro.... http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4147.jpg and here is a frag that I have been waiting for for a long long time...... and I wanna thank Laurier for finally coughing it up:razz::wink: I know getting this frag didnt come at a very good time with me moving and all but Laurier recently moved his tank too and he want an insurance frag out there, just in case..... "Red Planet" http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4135.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4131.jpg |
Nice corals. I think your loripes may be a lokani. Either way it looks like it has lots of potential. I think the Aussie unknown might be a echinata or turaki.
Love the red planet  |
lol didn't realize how many nubs are on that frag. looking good mang. btw is that tabling acro encrusting onto your frag rack???
|
Hey Doug thanks for the help today. I will be back for more, and want to check out your tank next time I'm down if possible.
|
Ok now I know what all the hype is on this RedPlanet! Beautiful!!! Grow it out quick! You're favorite frag customer would love one of those!!!!!!!!:mrgreen::wink:

I dont have enough water in my house and my fondness for clams has turned out to be a full blown addiction!...............so......................I m gonna be adding another tank to the system after I move. The tank is 24x24x12 (Josh's old cube) and will be lit by a single 250w MH(galaxy ballast, lumenmax elite reflector) or if the budget allows I may order in the 24" 8 bulb ATI, we'll see what happens......I will need to upgrade the return for the system.....Im currently running two in sump return pumps(one for the 110 and one for the "anti-pony" tank).....so Im thinking about drilling the sump and putting a "dart gold" with a manifold on the system....that would free up quite a bit of space in the sump and reduce heat transfer considerably......its all still a couple months away so plans may change:mrgreen: http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0085.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0086-1.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0087.jpg I have a bit of work to do on the tank......the patch covering the holes need to be removed (weeeeee I love scraping silicone) and the "Scary Movie" face that Josh made needs to be exorcised from the tank and a new overflow cut and installed...... http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMG_0088.jpg |

See...I told you that you couldn't be without a reef tank...it's what you're all about...and now your adding on! Yay! |

Thanks Lisa....most say it looks better in person:wink: Red Planet a little more settled in http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4172.jpg |
alittle late on this post, but yeah I have been told that its an A. Loripes, it does look like a Granulosa but i think the polyp shape is a bit different.
anyways, its looking good there bi. A Loripes (if I remember correctly.....right John?) http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4141.jpg |
I know I should just leave this one alone. But well I can't...so here it comes "It looks better in person" This sounds interesting. I really have been missing things around here.

heres one that has finally started to get the purple that its supposed to have( I have a colony of the same coral on the opposite side of the tank that has been in the tank for over a year and has been brown the whole time(in fact I'm thinking about selling it, because its starting to get stung on the bottom by an ever increasing in size nem)) http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4189.jpg heres another coral that is starting to regain its former glory....this monti was getting shaded out by a pocci that is doing quite well..... http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4184.jpg a somewhat blue stag http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4186.jpg bird http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4185.jpg |
Neat!
|
couple things to report......I stopped dosing KZ Eisen conentrate!........the add-on tank is such a mess with algae that Im gonna see if starving the tank of iron helps knock it back a little......
I mentioned a few days ago that I had a colony of sps that a green BTA was starting to get within reach of......lesson learned:neutral: dont be lazy like me.....I thought that just the part of the base of the colony that the nem was touching, would be affected......I was wrong:onfire:......overnight http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0017-4.jpg the RTN of that colony also took out a large portion of a green monti cap that was touching the colony on the back side.....a two-fer......so boys and girls......move it or loose it! I started preparing to get things organized for the move.......I borrowed the label maker from work and got started on printing off everything to label my electrical lay-out so I wont sit there scratching my head about where to plug everything back in, in the "tank move scramble"......Ive come to a conclusion, we reefers got a lot o crap we need to plug in!....... http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4201.jpg Im positive that this is not all of them:biggrin: |
Doug where ya moving too again .

Im definitely a zoaholic, but when you couple that with the fact that Im also a clamaddict usually equals very little cash actually makes it home from RC:redface: there gotta be some kind of twelve step program somewhere for us reefheads gonna be some "doubles" in here but I was shooting with two different cams http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4223.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0016-1.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4222.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0022-5.jpg same clam.....different angles http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4219.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4218.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0026-2.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4216.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP4217.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...IMG_0027-4.jpg |

sprung a leak at some point last night:neutral:.......not much water made it to the floor, but the floor under the tank is definitely wet*just what I need.....damage the hardwood floor two months before I move*.....I found the leak(one of my hose clamp connections) and quickly fixed it, but in the process I created another leak at the bulkhead......I go to grab the big channel-lock pliers the give the bulkhead a turn...... and doh!.......Mikey has all my pliers and wrenches!.......@#$*......now Ive got a drippy bulkhead.......thats when frustration set in and I managed to get the bulkhead tightened(ever so slightly) by hand.....seems to have stopped the leak, but will have to snug it more later when I get decent pair o pliers.....I sat there for an hour trying to get the water under the tank to leech into towels.......got a big fan blowing in the general direction......hopefully I didnt bugger the floor up:twitch:
