Also not all membranes are created equal. The one I had before this one was awesome and never read above 10 (until it died). This one I have now has terrible TDS creep. I kept my old one so I know what brand to look for when this one is done. Whether I put it somewhere where I can find it is a totally different matter but has nothing to do with YOUR thread here so I'll stop typing now. :)

after DI......aw....that means more plumbing parts:mrgreen:....so you just have those JG Ts everywhere you can on your RO unit?

So its kinda like a windshield in your car? Once you replace the first one the others seem to chip way easier?

I do love a lovely little clam....thinking bout Tony jogged my brain as I know he too loves a lovely little clam:wink:

Very NICE Clams shots there Doug! You have quite the collection growing. Still really LOVE the one with the pretty yellow polyps growing all around it the most! It's just such a neat contrast with the spikey bright yellow beside the purple! Neat shot!

So you must need to frag some pretty pink SPS don't ya?

I keep thinkin bout scraping the yellow polyps off of there (already did on one side of the clam), but your right that color contrast is pretty sweet:biggrin:

Josh.....that milli looks more purple in person than in the pics....

Thanks guys....I really noticed a difference after I started dosing "Kents Pytomax and Zoomax"....the millis in particular seem to loooooove it:biggrin: The tank really seems to be hitting its stride(its coming up on two years old soon).

Nothing much has changed with the tank.....including the water(went over a month without a w/c:redface:), until recently.....I finally got in there and did about six hours work in the tank on holiday Monday......the "pony" tank had become overrun with about 5 different kinds of macros(will post pics in the "add-on" journal).....there was probably 4-5" of it in the bottom of a 5g pail.....that was REDONKULOUS.....I also fixed an avalanche that happened last week while I was cleaning the glass.....it felt good to pay attention to the tank again.(Ive been avoiding the tank lots lately:neutral:)......

some recent shots

JDigital 02-19-2010 12:55 AM

Ahhhh... All is well, another positive update... :pop2:

That first pic is pretty cool... just an impassable wall of SPS goodness. Can barely see the back of the tank!

Cool pics...SPS craziness in pic 1! And if I had clams I would place them all in a bed of Zoas like in the last pic! They look so neat surrounded by them!

heres a quick clam lesson.......you can tell by the coloration sometimes but the scounts are the dead give away.....maximas have more rows of scounts and more scounts in the row......croceas will have less rows and less scounts in those rows.....hope that helps...

Leah 02-19-2010 03:08 PM

Do you have a link to the add-on thread? I would love to see pics of those macros or hear about what kinds you grow and your experiences with them.

Thanks guys.....I like how they look together too.....I just wish that they wernt the centerpiece of the tank.....I put them there because of the 13" wide center brace thats on the tank....I would have like to put something a little more rare and exciting:neutral:........
